Bottom of the current form table.
That last run of games against the top teams is looking much better than it did a month ago. If Nige can sort out our defence we may still be in with a shout.

Not so much a shout but a whisper

The way Peterborough and Sunderland are going, I wonder if top 2 will be sorted before final game and it’ll just be order of play off positions left.
Wonder if we'd want to finish 6th instead of 5th on this occasion IF we got into the Play-Offs then

Always felt that we'd win the Play-Offs when we finished 3rd as there was never the feeling that we'd frustratingly just missed out on the top two, eg. all season it was the other four teams above us that were talked about for promotion, we were always ignored.

On this occasion, whoever finishes 3rd looks like it'll be because they've thrown away automatic promotion.

    Recover from that!!
I think IF we got into the play offs.....and it's a very big IF.....we would have momentum with us as we can only really afford to lose 1 of our remaining games. I reckon we need 6 wins & 2 draws or 7 wins to grab 6th.

Lincoln is the team we have to aim for -they have a difficult run in.Goes without saying we have to beat them and Donny but as it stands.Top 3 Mackems Posh and Hull.Blackpool have games in hand Pompey starting to wi again. One place still up for grabs

There are a lot of teams with a chance of the playoffs. I'm assuming that the top 3 are safe, but after that you have

Lincoln - hit a wall, which often happens to overachieving smaller clubs
Pompey - new manager bounce plus a decent set of fixtures
Blackpool - in good form and have 2 games in hand on us
Doncaster - out of form but have 2 games in hand on us
Oxford - steady rather than spectacular form
Us - decent form but a tough run in
    Gillingham - in good form
Ipswich - no real new manager bounce, but still handily placed
    MKD - in excellent form

So that's 9 clubs chasing 3 playoff places. I'd be really surprised if Pompey and Blackpool don't make it, leaving one place...

To be fair i'd feel a lot better about our chances if we had an in his prime Gerrard in the side.
  • not read this thread but having just looked at the table, fact is there’s everything still to play for

I get what you’re saying. Yes every team ever did say that. But there has been some shocking displays for a team of this caliber on paper.

Indeed but we've been experts at it this season - not many of the top sides will have taken just two points from 18 against the likes of Burton, Shrewsbury and Swindon.

Can we finish in the play off places after 46 games?
Right now, it doesn't even matter.

All that matters ....... is that we win the next game. That's it.

good point for Lincoln at Sunderland .. but since their main man Jorge Grant has been injured, their form has nosedived. He may well be out for the rest of the season

With us playing Doncaster, Lincoln, Sunderland and Ipswich in the next four games, how many points do you think we will achieve?

We can't lose to any of these 4 sides, but we can't only end up with 4 draws either
