Lee Collins has died aged 32!

Horrible for his family, no idea how or why but at that age it doesn't really matter he is far too young.

Maybe, just can't believe a young sportsman has died. I am nearly 47 and life seems to be accelerating.

Can't begin to comprehend how his nearest and dearest are feeling.

No. ‘RIP’ isn’t a way to report news (however tragic) or a word interchangeable with ‘has died’. The news should be reported, then ‘Rest in Peace’ offered as an expression of condolence, after the news has been digested.
