What a difference from LB. So upbeat & positive albeit after a win.

Yes a win. Innis was impressive. Just need to kill these games off but felt fairly comfortable. Very pleased. That's the first of our run of wins against teams at the top. Play offs back on.

Happy to see Bogle fist bumping our players in the tunnel as they walked out. He didn't have a good time at Charlton so respect to him.

As for the game, well Donny huffed and puffed yet never really got many clear chances. A few heart racing moments had Amos shouting at the back four, but generally there is a lot to be pleased with. 3 points, clean sheet, Maatsen first goal. 6 changes to starting line up. Winning at Donny is always nice for me as I work in the town.

A good solid performance and so chuffed for Innis to be back. Step up Goliath. He's immense and it is clear to see why Bowyer would have been wanting him back all season.

Under Adkins I feel there is a feel good factor coming back. If that can be harnessed and kept going, who knows. Up to 5th. Tough games ahead, but aren't they all. Gotta beat the best teams to go up.

Jake was an engine room in the midfield and rightly took his MOM on Sky.

Actually pleased to see that he didn't think it was an amazing win, but a good start with lots still to work on.

    Keep at it, Nige!

Bogle  was obviously liked in the dressing room looking at the players reactions to him. Don’t think anyone could fault his effort for us, it’s just a shame his quality didn’t stand up. We would have been in a lot better position had the players with quality, shown his effort.

A win (on Sky no less). A clean sheet. Inniss back in the team. Maatsen looking very accomplished in his new role. Jaiyesimi getting more involved with every game. Of the players with multiple personalities, only the good versions turned up: no stupid impetuous Pratley and no error-prone Pearce, just two good honest ball-winners. Despite defending for much of the game, we didn't look like we'd be troubled and we didn't drop too deep. First win for our new manager who sounded enthusiastic and inspiring. Happy Easter, Addicks!

11 more 1-0s and we'll be in the Championship  ;)
To be fair 8 more could do it

The season continues. If we are to get to the playoffs and gain promotion, Adkins has a job on his hands getting more from players like Millar.
JFC is our Cullen - Innis is our Bauer - finding a Beilik and an Aribo at this late stage will be tough.

We looked reasonably untroubled for 75 mins, apart from the Matthews back heel into danger in the first half.
I have to say I thought they would equalise on about 85 mins, but the double substitution by us on 89 mins broke the momentum.
They should have equalised with a header around that time, but luckily 2 of their players got in each others way.

Innis was MOM for me, a great performance after being out for 6 months.
    Pearce was almost as good.

Amos played well, Matthews was ok apart from the back heel and Purrington was solid at LB.

Maatsen played well on the right, took the goal really well and is definitely better further forward, than he is playing left back, where he is lacking.

JFC & Gilbey tackled well, but their passing was poor.
JFC constantly passing to no one.
I'm wondering whether he was told to kick the ball into open space rather than to a Charlton player, as otherwise I can't explain why his passing was so poor.
I've no idea why Sky made him MOM, other than that they were waxing lyrical about him before and early on in the game and perhaps made up their mind before the game started.

Jaiyesimi played well and Millar just ran into trouble nearly every time.

Stockley was immense and troubled them all game.

A well fought and deserved victory.

Solid performance. We are so much stronger with innis.
    Pratley scares me at time.
Adjins shows we have options on the bench.

Now we need to take points from the top teams and cross our fingers

@Dazzler21 will probably know but when was the last time we kept a clean sheet with out Watson in the team?

It was a good three points ... no question about that.

But I struggle with Adkins' comments about Gilbey.  I thought that he was anonymous and I would have subbed him for Shinnie much earlier.

Maatsen in midfield was/is an excellent idea.  I believe that I suggested that several weeks ago (although not on the right side, so credit to Adkins for that).

But we were still poor today.  Adequate enough against a limited Doncaster side (I give you 'Bin man' Bogle, a 40 year-old Coppinger and Shaggy out of Scooby-Doo in defence), but let's not get carried away.

It's good that a number of our remaining games are against top sides.  Any points that we might take are compounded by those sides also losing points.

I look forward to being further educated by Adkins in the remainder of the season.

Interesting comments about Millar. His poor performance may have been due to jet lag but I thought Professor Positive would have given him a boost.

Millar was excellent when he arrived but has steadily regressed every game.

Hope it can be turned around because he clearly has lots of talent.

    That was almost perfect.

Very professional, defensively solid and managed the game so appropriately, even in the 7+ added on they were impotent.

Was sceptical about that line up and formation but it worked a treat, interested to see how we setup at home against a side we should beat.

Feel like Adkins first item on his agenda was to stop letting goals in, which is an obvious but highly important play.

Weve given ourselves a good chance now.

Just like listening to Bowyer 😀

I don't think TS could have appointed a more different character

Bit of a shame that Jayden’s goal was offside. He now hasn’t scored in a win in his last 37 games.

Enjoyed that a lot. Haven’t seen the side battle like that for each other in quite some time. Very physical game but none of them shirked the challenge.

Gut feel says it might be too little, too late for us to make the Playoffs but at the very least it does feel as though the change in management has given the club a bit of a shot in the arm.

Watched the whole game. Listened to the commentators. Still can't work out whether the manager's name is Atkins or Adkinson.

I liked that before the game Adkins said we'd try and impose ourselves on Doncaster. We've barely done that this season. Then he was true to his word using 2 wingers & Stockley's aerial threat. Won lots of second balls too, plus the clean sheet obviously. Best I've seen us play since Ipswich back in November.

It’s so much better to hear a manager with a bit of positively. Even when we won games under Bowyer we didn’t really see this.  Also pleasing that he hasn’t slagged off single player.

    Oh shut up!! ;)
  • Great stuff , lads !

Could NOT believe that young Ian managed to slide the ball into the corner of the net under such pressure ! Hope this is the first of many in THE shirt for him. Clearly enjoyed the role he'd been given today.

Not overly impressed with Jakey in the 1st half & wondered whether Shinns might come on after halftime but 2nd half he was a commanding, ever ready ( get it?) presence & deservedly my MOM.

Loved seeing Big Ryan back at the back, and he clearly relished being, well, back.

Darren P with a performance  surely no-one could criticise today but no doubt someone will.

Thought everyone looked comfortable out there on the whole although Jayden was struggling around 70 minutes and with Chuks on the bench, there was an ideal replacement willing & oven ready...

Of course I was nervous at times - this is Charlton after all - but not as stressed as usual. Nadkins appears to have a calming & positive influence on all concerned, including Fanny. Long may it continue.

Really annoyed that the momentum created today has to be put on hold until we travel to The Stadium of Light next Saturday for what, I guess, could be called a 6 pointer. But, on the positive side, and after a proper look at the tactics he's employed, more time for the gaffer to hone his game plan.

Keeping Faith isn't just a TV series.....

    Happy Easter everyone !
