Can't say I remember who Didier Ndong is. Looked up his record and it doesn't look like Sunderland got good value for that whopping £13.8m.

Didn't Lincoln pay £100k for Alinde a couple of years back?

Hey does the headline refer to us specifically?

Isn't Darren Bent our record signing, when you factor in the sell on when we flogged him?

I would love to know what each clubs record signing when in league 1 is.

I think our would be Ajose. Seem to remember 800k being mentioned.

Only got to AFC Wimbledon. Reading that website on mobile is impossible due to the adverts.
  • With the possible exception of Crouch the top 6 record signings were all pretty much a complete flop.

Pretty impressed that Wimbledon's is still only 25k, even after a decade in league football.

Very interesting. Some never to be forgotten (cos no-one remembered them in the first place) names there. Many of the record fees were paid 10 years and more ago

And a number of "who?" names too. Ndong at Sunderland, Elmander at Bolton I vaguely remember, but Boselli at Wigan and Sereni at Ipswich are unknowns to me

Also understandable that Cambridge's is from their glory days in the early 90s, but galling that they could afford £250k for Steve Claridge, when we at the time probably couldn't!

  • It’s not a very interesting statistic. It’s more of a record of what level teams have played at and when.

Yes, Bent is our record in terms of total money paid, Jason was our record in terms of initial transfer fee, being roughly twice what we paid for Darren.

There's a very strange link to another article on that page.  I'm surprised tree lions have girlfriends, gorgious or otherwise, rather than mating partners.

Yeah, they're obviously concerned to prove how much more massive Wednesday are to us.

The whole thing is just clickbait. There's a link at the top of the page called 'read this'.  I was intrigued suckered in, but when I clicked on it it just took me to an advert for tents.

Sereni was their Goalkeeper the season they got to the UEFA Cup in 2001
