    I tend to think of his Palace history as something that he has had to overcome in order to succeed, a bit like a crack addict that kicked the habit and turned his life around.

    Gareth Southgate has quite literally dragged himself up from the bowels of hell to become one of England's two greatest managers.

    Quite - that penalty miss in 96 is still only the 2nd most embarrassing thing on his CV after playing for Palace

    I bet he wishes we had got knocked out in the group stages now. 

    Could have been much worse - he could have got the freedom of Croydon.

    Awards for losing in my opinion are always a bit stupid. 

    The fact he relegated Middlesbrough is the icing on the cake though.

    Maybe, just maybe, the award has been provided on the back of the great unity and hope he gave to the country this Summer (and success, whether people like you choose to acknowledged it or not)

    Its about time you admit it mate - you went into the tournament giving it the big one about how England/Southgate were going to be failures, and you got shown up.

    Prick should have lost earlier in the tournament and I wouldn't have caught Covid,  passed on to mrs who is still isolating and as i'm allowed out she's forcing me to go to the shops tomorrow fuck off , i hate people

    Bobby Robson won the FA Cup and UEFA cup with Ipswich so not sure of the comparison there?
