‘Addick to Victory’ is a curse we did not need…9

Disappointing result and disappointed to be out of the competition but can't comment on the performance as wasn't there.
Really hope the club breaks the apathy/ hoo doo towards cup games. Seems an accepted forgone conclusion from the off and shouldn't be like that. Just give the cups a good go with strongest teams as there is no evidence that not doing so has any benefit for us in the league going on past years.7 -

Biggest problem for me is it doesn’t feel like a new season has started. Still not quite feeling that connection to anyone outside of Stockley.I know we will strengthen and I know we will get better, but I’m finding our current squad is still very ‘meh’.17

They did. And were the only team to do so tonight……Callumcafc said:0 -
A season of mid table mediocrity with the current squad awaits if we do not strengthen ASAP.

Wimbledon completed nearly 50% more passes in our half than we did in theirs. Terrifying statistic.2

I predicted a 1-0 defeat before the game. Saw the team, had been expecting a completely new 11 so thought we might get a result.
Listened to the game so can't comment on the performance, but it sounded like a typical cup defeat.
Really need positive news about signings ASAP.4 -

Yes. Should be thrown out of the competition and the tie awarded to us.Callumcafc said:0 -

Classic performance by Wimbledon. They got their goal and dominated with a good professional job after that. They didn’t have much to beat we posed no threat.
Our structural soft underbelly was exposed.
No positives I’m afraid.1 -

To those saying Stockley doesn't do well up top on his own...
Adkins first 10
Scorers /Assisters in Adkins first 10.
In the 4 games Stockley scored in, 3 were as the one up top in a 4-3-3. The other was against AFC in a 4-4-2 alongside... Washington.
Both of Stockley's assists came in 4-3-3's too.0 -
Same old every year. I'm sick of seeing us underachieving in these competitions. Regardless of the division we're in its always just so predictable. You enter a competition to progress and win in any sport. This should be no exception.8

Let the post-mortem begin!
It’s the League Cup, Adkins stuck the youth out other than a couple of first teamers, we’ve got bigger battles ahead - we do need more players & Adkins/Gallen/Sandgaard are aware of this so let’s get things into perspective before we start losing our minds

Looks like we just dicked about with the ball in our half and couldn't find a way to play in their half. Was hoping we'd started to move away from doing that.4

Busy season, small squad. Best out of this competition if we have promotion ambitions. A little worrying from the reaction so far and lack of activity on transfers.3

Know what you mean. Whilst not a catastrophe or panic stations feels like we are in pre season mode still with eyes on the remaining transfer window.

That was truly dreadful and for too many reasons to be ignored.
1. Morgan and Clare, our first team creative players, both looked inadequate.
2. Other than Elewere, none of the young players looked remotely close to being first team. Davison might be 4th or 5th striker, the rest looked completely out of their depth.
3. We created nothing all game except one ball over the top led to our only shot on target. I make that 1 in 180 minutes if football so far.
This squad needs 5 or 6 quality players, not just squad members, to make a challenge this season. If Sandgaard thinks Adkins can do it through 'self sufficiency', which I have heard he has said, then dream on Tommy.

Haven't signed enough players and I'm sure we will end up with a few panic signings as the current squad we have will be diminished severely with inevitable injuries. If the somewhat ambitious European hopes are to be fulfilled then Thomas will have to spend money.0

Interesting. That's what I thought - only 3 subs allowed this year.Dansk_Red said:10 Substitutes10.1 Subject to Rule 10.2, in all matches, each team is permitted up to seven substitutes of whom not more than three may take part in the match.

I'd genuinely rather we lost these games... waste of time and our squad is thin enough as is6
