Maybe some boffin can list other father-son Charlton players (?).
Colin and Chris PowellNicky Forster and Jake Forster-Caskey (if you count step sons)
I believe that’s it.
You forgot Stanley and Adam Matthews.8 -

From what I have seen, he's a busy player, always trying to make things happen. Just what our current team is lacking.

This is a fine signing, but just as important is that this team needs pace down the flanks. We've not got it at right fb, so they desperately need to get it at lb and really lm.
I definitely agree that we need speedy, attacking full backs, definitely on the left and preferably on the right too.0 -
if we sign a good young attacking fb on perm, I think its a good window, loans will be the cherry on top. We should have less injuries than previous seasons as well.

Let’s hope your assessment is correct…..our bad luck not withstanding.0 -

A good signing at FB and possibly another CM will give us what is probably a decent enough team but I won't lie and say I wasn't hoping for a little better than just decent.0 -
We all want a team of Robert Lee's and now we have his son, good to keep it in the family0

key point for me though is he doesn’t appear to be championship quality. We need to be trying to assemble a championship side, like we had in 11/12 and like we had in 18/19.
Championship quality players wont be joining us now.3 -
I still think we've got a decent first XI, who could arguably make top 6 although with Gilbey and Purrington injured it might take a while for that XI to actually play together. Midfield doesn't look sensational but still early days so Dobson and Clare deserve a bit more time. We need a LB but the huge concerns for me are cover for Stockley and Inniss. If we can get those 3 I'd be feeling a lot more positive than a few days ago.1

Not to worried about centre back cover now that Elerewe has broken through. I think we have enough with Pearce and Gunter to cover that position. Left back is a priority as is a forward.1

A Bradford player joined in and then others. They were looking for a contact lens apparently belonging to Lee.
Thanks for remembering it.0 -

this signing personally is very missing link so my feeling is the season starts tomorrow, gives more space to DJ & Captain1

Best signing since Innis from Palace.
This signing will work for us PITY it is only a loan signing.0 -

We are still looking for a man to marshall this team and fire everyone up to be giving 100%. Other than the soon to be retiring Pearce I really don't see anyone capable of this role. This problem of course is not exclusive to Charlton, this league or even football. Every organisation is looking for this. And in finding so few they have to offer huge salary to headhunt the few who are already taken. And lure them away.
Unless TS realises this we will continue to have a shoal of beta males. Read "beaten" males.
I hope Lee Jr proves me wrong but I don't get a whiff of the kinsellas about him either. Curve made a good point on CTV last week..when speaking of the '98 squad "they were all men out there. The team could have picked themselves and done it all themselves".
How many "men" are in this current squad?

Gallen: We’ll have more business to do before Tuesday’s deadline, that I can tell you. The phone doesn’t stop ringing and we’re focussed on bringing in the right players for this football club.”
The "right kind of player for this football club"?
What? .... "Crap" kind of players Steve! Yes I see that now!
The Bonne type of players are actually the right type of players for this club. Desire, pace, score goals.
Sadly we didn't match his desire (or Taylor's or Bauer's, or Doughty's, or or or)

You can flog the rest (and then sell them on afterwards!)1 -
Gilbert lol.0

This is a good signing, him and his brother are both very effective players especially at this level
He is similar to Andrew Shinnie in a way, very direct, minimal decorative elements just effective1 -

My point is that your original comment was not needed - Robert Lee played lots of games and scored lots of goals for us at home games - sadly most at grounds that were not our ‘home’ - he was however a massive player for us and one of the key players that kept us in Div 1 way beyond what was thought possible
FYI, if his spelling is off, it's because he had an eye operation two days ago.
He doesn't want any sympathy but leave it out. He wasn't criticising Robert Lee. He probably saw and appreciated the player more than the average Lifer of equivalent age.0 -

Hopefully, when he’s fully recovered, he’ll be able to see his glass isn’t always half empty.
😎
Just kidding.Wishing you a speedy recovery golfie. 👍🏼1 -
Enjoyed his 15 minutes. Thought he looked strong and didn’t expect the pace he has. Look forward to seeing what he can do over 90 minutes, but initially looks like a smart signing for us.1
