Rest in peace scratch
I'll be lying if I said he died too young, I expected him to go by the late nineties. Genuine pioneer and someone I could listen to all day3 -
Very sad news RIP1

That’s a real shame RIP. Strangely, decided to wear this when I got dressed this morning.

Sad day. Great music from him which luckily we’ll always have.0

Gutted. One of a kind; a true innovator.
Was due to see him last summer before Covid kyboshed it and knew that I'd never get another chance, given the circumstances and his age.
His influence on reggae was beyond huge - he's part of its DNA.

About 5:30am I had a reggae earworm of Long Shot kick de bucket, Fatty Fatty and various other tracks from tighten up vol 2. …some music from Swan Lake???
#mental note not to drink tea at night.

Friend of mine is/was his friend and biographer, and my label released a double album of his earlier material (‘Born in the Sky’). He’s was a true one-off, and a genuine reggae legend.Behind the scenes he wasn’t nearly as crazy as he liked people to think he was.On the business side he seemed very straightforward to deal with, although Trojan Records threatened to us, as as they claimed to own everything he ever recorded.
RIP Scratch.2
