Arter has fallen behind Ryan Yates, Jack Colback, Cafu, James Garner and even youngster Tyrese Fornah in the pecking order. With that in mind, letting him head out on loan makes perfect sense.
The only negative to this deal is that it’s not a permanent deal. Forest will, however, be able to offload a percentage of his wages to Charlton once the deal goes through.He will go down as one of the biggest flops in Forest history and it’s a massive disappointment that he’s not been able to showcase his talents to the club.
Nigel Adkins must be aware of what he is getting himself in for. Arter has looked way past his best whenever he’s pulled on a Forest shirt and offloading him makes perfect sense.
Arter was a very, very good player in his Bournemouth years if he has 80% of that left in his tank he will be the best player on the pitch most weeks.3 -
Look how bad Taylor has been at Forest, silly to rate Arter based on his time there. He was a regular in a good Fulham side not long ago10

Had a Forrest fan mate of mine down at the weekend. Was telling me that Taylor isn't a goal scorer. Showed him the highlights of when he was with us and he was genuinely stunned (he's also not their penalty taker to be fair).
I last saw Arter at when we played Fulham and he looked quality that day. I would have thought he should be very good at this level.6 -

Fantastic signing. Genuinely, this has potential to be the game changer.
People spoke of how Bannan at Wednesday is influential and they’re right. Arter can be just the same for us. His ability on the ball, his vision and calmness will help us so much. I actually think he will help improve Morgan.
A midfield of Arter, Lee and one other with Kirk and DJ on the wings is very strong for this league.
We now don’t have to go long to Stockley as much as we did before as we have players more than capable now of playing through the thirds. Great signing.19 -
Also, Forest seem a bit of a mess to be honest so really would completely forget his time there. He has shown pretty much everywhere else his ability. Moving closer to home and having unfinished business will all play a part in how he does for us.
Making Taylor a bit part player and only playing him up front on his own shows I don’t think Forest know how to get the best out of the tools they have. Think that’s likely to be the case here too.

I saw a good interview type thing with Lennie on You Tube and he mentioned how he always looked at players who were out of favour with their club - not just when he was manager with us, but throughout his managerial career. Yup, the next time we see Alan he is taking the absolute piss for Brentford at The Valley as they spanked us 3-0 and he was brilliant for them and played over 100 games for them.
The same thing happened with Simon “Calamity” Francis too and back in the 1980s Lennie specialised in getting players in that had been alienated at their clubs and then turned them back into top players, Steve Mackenzie, Jim Melrose, Colin Walsh, Paul Miller and Colin Pates come to mind.8 -

I was concerned that we didn't have any decent left footed players apart from the injured JFC.
I think Arter will be tremendous at this level.1 -
Could be coming on second half for Ireland if they keep this lead and need steady heads to see it out0

People do realise that today’s footballers are nothing like, 70’s, 80’s players having a beer and a fag, before,at halftime time and after the game. Hence being 30+years old isn’t the same, especially the way sports science is used. Poor fuckers would be put down if it was up to a lot if people on here!!!🤣🙄2

I thought Arter was very good at Fulham, bit surprised they didn't sign him. You never quite know how confidence is lost by a poor fit and injuries. If he plays to his potential then he's an upgrade on all our other cm's.
As for strikers Forrest is an absolute graveyard for them, but would have thought Arter would have slotted in perfectly there even after Hughton took charge.1 -

For £38,000 a week or whatever he should be prepared to do what ever he is detailed to do for the team. Quite ridiculous for that amount of money to have personal issues about his duties etc. or his training schedule . However both he and Francis flourished at Bournemouth . Players have a right to proper management but those who need a constant arm round them should see their mother before joining the big boys games. He is 31 for God's sake .
