Does anyone remember the old Laurel and Hardy film where Ollie accidentally sticks a glued paint brush on the end of his chin, and Stan has to cut the brush off with a Plane just leaving the stubble.

Apparently the gaffer has been bringing him on and off every 15 minutes in training games while singing ‘Papa was a rolling sub’
Really tickles our Nige it does….13 -
That's terrible AFKA!

Will the club supply a new kitbag?2

”Yes, we signed him from Lille, really good until a major road accident, not the same afterwards.Saw him play for the U-23s at Dulwich away.”1 -

Guess we'll primarily use him for the Papa Johns Trophy?9

Interesting one this. Presumably Freedman has given enough intel to suggest the car accident and subsequent patchy appearances haven’t dimmed his ability. And Nigel must have liked what he saw during the trial.
Could be a decent signing. And we have Purrington who, when fit, is more than good enough at this level.

This is an interesting list: https://www.transfermarkt.com/league-one/marktwerte/wettbewerb/GB3
Pape Souaré is ranked as 65th amongst all League 1 players, and the 590th best left back in the world. Obviously such a website, giving him a market value of 700 grand, has to be taken not too seriously, lol

I wish Papa Souaré well but the last player we brought in after a bad car crash was Christophe Lepoint !1

By my calculations, Charlton now have 24 players that qualify for the squad cap. Presumably two out of Forster-Caskey, Dempsey, and Schwartz will be left out until January at least.
Included Excluded Adam Matthews Aaron Henry Chris Gunter Albie Morgan Akin Famewo Charles Clayden Jason Pearce Charlie Barker Ryan Inniss Craig MacGillivray Samuel Lavelle Deji Elerewe Ben Purrington Hady Ghandour Pape Souaré Jacob Ruddy George Dobson James Vennings Harry Arter Johl Powell Ben Watson Nathan Harness Alex Gilbey Wassim Aouachria Ben Dempsey Sean Clare Jake Forster-Caskey Elliot Lee Corey Blackett-Taylor Diallang Jaiyesimi Charlie Kirk Jonathan Leko Conor Washington Jayden Stockley Josh Davison Ronnie Schwartz 1 -
I don't think its that much of a gamble to be honest. Only a one year contract and with him being out for so long you would imagine he is just desperate to play and therefore shouldn't demand too high wages. Got a good feeling about this signing, squad shaping up nicely.4

"Sign a left back ffs, ANY left back".
Pape Souare signs for the club.
"Not THAT left back ffs".
There's just no helping some people.23 -

We needed a LB, he has a decent pedigree. May work out very well and he will get my support when he plays; but I can't get that excited about a 30+ ex Palace player with a recent record of injuries and lack of game time.
Oh, and makes me laugh that posters come on here, make no comment on the player but just dig out other fans. The most tiresome bit of this site as of late.8 -

Seems like a Roland acquisition.I've heard Mark Reid is still useful up the left flank...2
