Andrew Pilley, of Thornton Cleveleys, has been charged in relation to alleged fraud and money-laundering.
None of the charges relate to his activities at the football club.
The 51-year-old did not enter a plea to Blackpool magistrates on Wednesday and was bailed to appear before Preston Crown Court on 20 October.

Thats disappointing... Comments from people on here have always found him to be a decent owner when they've come across him in games against us1

He has been suspected of this in the past, I remember looking into their meteoric rise through the leagues, and the background to how he made his money seemed to be very contentious.
I wrote a blog post (back when people wrote blogs, now it's twitter threads!) back in the day, which references some of the concerns people had.

Wasn't he one of the most vocal against RD at the time?1

The former owner of Fleetwood Town FC has lost a bid to challenge convictions for multiple fraud offences at the Court of Appeal.
Andy Pilley, who was the chairman and owner of the League Two side for 20 years until he stepped down in 2023, was handed a 13-year prison sentence in July that year.
At the Court of Appeal in London, barristers for Pilley said his convictions were unsafe as he experienced "disadvantage through difference" as a result of his ADHD not being recognised at the time of his trial.
In their ruling Justice Edis, sitting with Mrs Justice O'Farrell and Judge Andrew Menary KC, dismissed the challenge, stating: "There is no arguable basis upon which this appeal could depend."

I always remember a Scottish lad I worked with who was famously blunt, sitting in a meeting where one of the database guys (firmly on the spectrum) lost his shit about soemthufn, ranted for 39nsdconda then just abruptly left the room. Acotsman pipes up: "Look... I get that he's got a problem, right. But it disnae excuse him from being a dick"CaptainRobbo said:

What is it about the Blackpool area that breeds football club owners that have more than a whiff of criminal activity? Owen Oyston, Simon Sadler and now Andrew Piley to name but three.0
