MacG: 7 - good game but only 3 shots on target to deal with. Not much he could do about the goal and save of the season in the second half. Wish he'd come and claim a few more crosses.

Gunter: 7.5 - reckon he looks best playing right side of a back three. Fantastic cover for DJ ahead of him - always on hand to bail him out when Miller got away from him.

Pearce: 8 - loves these physical battles. Helped keep Smith quiet all night (and his after the whistle penalty challenge was hilarious).

Famewo: 7 - so comfortable with the ball at his feet but gets us into dangerous situations when his ability/decision making doesn't quite live up to his confidence. Still thought he had a good game overall and would love us to convert him to a perm.

Dobson: 7 - put himself about a lot, but a quieter performance than his recent MoM showings. Rathbone and Wiles should be as stern a test as he gets this season in the centre of the park though, and he held his own. A few misplaced passes and the odd poor decision perhaps a sign of the last 270mins of football catching up with him. 

DJ: 8 - feel like he got the better of Miller over the 90, if sometimes more by luck than judgement in defence. Less likely to skin his man than Leko but he just needs that half a yard and nine times out of ten a fantastic ball comes in. The rest of this division won't defend his crosses as well as Rotherham did.

Gilbey: 8.5 - just doesn't stop running. Needed his work rate against a really energetic Rotherham midfield. Not the same player as Aribo or Gallagher but I feel he's the closest we've had to them for some time on the turnover and he looked pivotal to the majority of our counter attacking play last night. 

Purrington: 7.5 - making that LWB position his own - helping get balls in from the left or winning headers at the back post from the other side. Very nearly assisted Washington after beating his man in similar fashion to his goal on Saturday.

Stockley: 6.5 - harsh booking early doors made it impossible for him play his usual, physical game. Coupled with a tall, strong Rotherham back line and he was fairly ineffectual, but as with the rest of the squad, can't fault his work rate and industry on the night.

Washington: 8.5 - up until the goal was looking his best without the ball at his feet. His runs dragged their back line around all game, although the balls through to him were rarely good enough to capitalise on his movement. Could've had a hattrick but the two missed chances perhaps harder to convert than they initially looked in real time. (I commented how poor he'd been on the ball about 5mins before his goal, so, you're welcome.)

Referee: 4 - Since Jacko took over we've become a much more combative side and so opposition fans will turn on a more lenient ref (sunderland) whilst we will turn on a stricter one (last night). Whilst he was far too whistle happy in that regard, I actually thought he was broadly even for most of the first half. That opinion got completely reversed in the second half. Bottling a clear second yellow for Ihiekwe a sign of just how far the game had gotten away from him.

MacG: 8 - he came for a cross, he came for a cross, our line-rooted keeper, he came for a cross. OK, his distribution was slow and erratic but the sight of him picking the ball out of the air had me going weak at the knees.

Stockley: 6.5 Didn’t win much in the air, except defensively where he is exceptional

MacG: 7 Very good save. He does like to palm the ball back into play. Surely the Goalie coach should be all over this?
Gunter: 8 Very good and solid! Made some much needed blocks.
Pearce: 8 Do like JP when he's in this mode
Famewo:7 Funny one to mark. Strong but nearly cost us 2 goals. Needs to think about the game more rather than rely on upper body strength to get out each hole
Dobson: 6 Not his best game and passing quite wayward. 
DJ: 8 Excellent tracking, use of the ball and some crosses that could have led to direct goals.
Gilbey:7 Good engine. Lacked some of his usual quality. Needs to improve that 1st touch when receiving the ball on the D. Bad conversion from 8 yards out. 
Lee: 8 Very good to watch and skillful. He really worked hard yday.
Purrington: 7 Good to see him in this new role. Some areas of defending will suffer for it but suddenly become a "threat"
Stockley: 7 Did well while walking a tight rope
Washington: 7 Good endeavour and goal. Some misses in vital passages of play. 

MacG: 8- Starting to look like a number 1. No clean sheet, but made some wonderful saves.

Jonnie Jackson: 8- Had a test today- had to come back against an inform team- we would of definitely lost that under Atkins-the team seem more confident now- I think we are into something good!!!!

Referee:  Very Poor today in my opinion.

Washington: 8 - Non stop running, another day could have had a hat-trick
