OK, unlikely unless you are drawing your pension but it's a great pic regardless.

From the Tom Morris archive now in the care of the museum.

Five boys standing on the East Terrace in a variety of headwear appeal for a penalty after Eddie Firmani, seen lying prone in the box, has been fouled.

Dennis "Daisy" Edwards scored from the spot to make it Charlton 2 - 0 Derby Co which was the final score.

I would have been on the terrace opposite as a 10yr old with my friend and his older brother who used to take us. I’ve been an addick and going to games for 58yrs now . Seems incredible.

Some time travelling going on here, the kid on the right has an ipad

Great photo but looks like a lot more than the recorded attendance of 16500?
  • That area of terracing between the old main stand and the covered end - I can only remember ever standing there a couple of times to watch a game.
Ironically it was around that time, but not that particular game.
One time was definitely against Swindon Town.

I knew this area as the paddock and started to go in there, when the seats went into the covered end.

I was there, but always stood at the open end, apart from the two years when I was in the youth team, then I was allowed in the West stand

Great to see five schoolboys enjoying a game together and one of the them is an Afro/Caribbean. I reckon it's @Grapevine49.

Perhaps those who choose to boo the taking of the knee should remember what kind of Club we've always been.

I was sitting on the wall at the very top of The East Terrace about in line with the halfway line.
  • I would have been there. My Dad and I used to stand about half way up the East Terrace level with the half way line.

I was there. In the area between the old grandstand and what is now the Jimmy Seed Stand. 8 years old, bobble hatted and loving it.
  • I was there behind that goal against the railings but even zooming in I can’t make myself out.
  • Think I was smoking in the lavvy behind the Covered End when this happened.  Nah not really, probably with my brothers up near the half time board at the top of the East Stand.

I stayed at home that day and watched it on Charlton Tv. Peter Croker and Charlie Revell were the two guests if I remember.

Spent the night on Twitter moaning about this new Valiants nickname

but they were only a tanner a bag.

My mother took me to my first game and we stood on the small terrace.

She bought me a season ticket for the next season so I could go on my own.

    I’m not in that photo.

My first game at the Valley was four weeks later on 29 February 1964, a 1-0 defeat to Portsmouth.
  • Nope  Sept 1968 my 1st game, still traumatised, we got 3 those other wankers got 4
