Not necessarily as a full back but his passing is very good and he reminds me of a holding midfielder at Aston Villa with the same initials! Also not very quick......

He's a good passer and crosser yes but not sure about him. He doesn't do much wrong but I'm not sure he has that bit more about him to make him good enough

re Solly's size... one of the best holding midfielders we've had in the last 15 years was 5 foot 4.

I'm tempted to stick up for Basey too. Granted that he's slow and full back is probably too exposed a position for him but his passing' has looked good and he's strong in the tackle, on top of that he's a physcially imposing player. A defensive midfiled or center half role should be what he's aimimg to make his own next year.

    That's what I thought, but apparently he's 5 ft 9

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keith_Jones_(English_footballer)

Obviously that could be completely wrong. I can't really remember enough about him.

Just don't forget that Pardew knew a good player when he saw one:

"Former Charlton team-mate Alan Pardew signed Jones for Reading. In the 2001–02 season Jones helped the Royals finish runners-up in the Second Division. He retired at the end of the season"

    ;o)

It was indeed Keith Aubrey Jones. If he's 5' 9", I'm six five!

This has made me question the accuracy of stuff on the internet.... my whole world is shaken.

In fact wikipedia says Deon Burton is 5 ft 10, the OS says 5 ft 8. If he's 5 ft 8 Solly must be about 5 ft 4.
