Should drop all ST prices next season, like Bradford City have done, to get as many in as possible week in week out.
I would guess that yesterday cost the club about £50k in lost ticket revenue. You might regard that as a worthwhile investment (it was certainly successful in its own terms) but if you keep doing it then the likely effect will be to increase losses, not reduce them. There are other ways of doing it that don’t cost anything like the same money, however.
He does have a point that some of your posts do often come across as "I know best and wouldnt have done that" and whilst I appreciate that you have previous experience, you do seem to be pretty miserable after a pretty uplifting game.
I know you couldnt give a toss what I think either, which is fine by me.1 -

Fantastic gesture,
mans presumably the ‘maths’ made sense to try it again!Gets people actively involved with the club, before Xmas , and with ‘Christmas deals’ Inevitably at the club shop!Bring on the future addicks7 -
Seems like they want the extra support. Also might get people in a habit so more likely to buy a half season ticket, or attend again.

I don't think that the take-up will be as good. If you repeat something special, it's no longer special.1

The club shop is outsourced to https://www.elitesportsgroup-uk.com/ourbrands, i believe, so i'm not sure what the club gets out of increased sales.
Catering is also outsourced to Creativevents, Mitie’s specialist venue catering business, so once again i'm not sure how the club benefits.

Strange decision, can't see it being anywhere near as popular as last time. I kinda presumed the next offer would be the Jackson 5 deal in the NY.
Also, if I was about to purchase a Half ST as casual.. id probably sack that choice off and wait for the next freebies.1 -
Probably won’t be as successful as the last time, but I don’t see why that makes it a bad idea?1

As a ST holder for many yrs -I support this whole heartedly
As someone commented earlier - hopefully the sums add up
Whats not to like
A fuller Valley - means surely many will get the taste for more and want to come back again
Bigger Picture - Waiting sponsors in the wings will see this as an opportunity to invest in the club
I think we should all get behind this and where possible bring 3 friends along
Whats not to like

its down to us, the season ticket holders - TS has offered it up, if we don't manage to convince 3 people to come along then that's down to each individual season ticket holder - don't ask what your club can do for you, ask what you can do for your club !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!10

They need to have a really strong and concerted push to sell half season tickets off the back of this.3
-
everybody who i've spoken to who were at the plymouth game who brought people along said they loved it and i see no reason why we won't get them all back, and some - albeit ipswich is on a tuesday night1

Think Wayne Mumford will have had a big say in this, easier to attract sponsors on the back of the potential of big home gates

Great iniative. People get out of the habit of doing things......talking to retailers here in Sydney about how things are post lockdown of 17 weeks and they pretty much say the same thing.....weekdays are dead but weekends are steady, nowhere near what it was pre covid. Personally I used to go to the mall 4-5 times week for coffee etc.....Ive rarely been since lockdown lifted.
You could visually see the slump in attendances at the Valley, exasperated by the Adkins effect. Its a good strategy to extend to the Ipswich and more especially the Cambridge game on a Saturday.....with that in mind I think a positive push on half season tickets will see a better than expected uptake, not to mention club shop xmas gift sales.3 -
Loved the atmosphere at the last one (when we weren't singing 'der der der der') so buzzing for these.0

How would the extra people to fill this increased capacity get there?, seeing as how Greenwich Council will only let you park about 5 miles away.0
-
As a season ticket holder who has the cheapest tickest I am enjoying the upgrade for free to the most the expensive ones. Not sure I will be able to give away free tickets in the North Lower every week but enjoy the West as a free change.

Really need to plaster the Valley with Half Season Ticket offers. How about one free under 11 season ticket with every adult one sold ? An empty seat earns you nothing anyway.4

So as a st I get 20% off a drink for 1 game yet
yet someone will go to 3 games for free for not forking out for 1Would of left it a while after the last game - there banking on results in both those games as if we were to get battered in both people simply won’t come back
For balance the 3 people im bringing would of gone to Ipswich anyway and probably Cambridge3 -

Attendances usually down in the run up to Christmas so this seems like an excellent initiative and should be applauded.3
-
Anybody able to help me with a ticket for the Cambridge game please? Be good to have that to look forward to as am away till then.0
-
I do support this initiative, wholeheartedly, but I’m now regretting buying a ticket for my partner for Cambridge well in advance and my brother has done the same for his two daughters. Oh well…at least there’ll be another rocking atmosphere to look forward to!0

Personally I would of left the free games till after Christmas.
It wouldve nice to see the attendances for Ipswich and Cambridge on the back of the Plymouth game.
I wonder why we didnt do the free tickets from the start of the season0
