MacG: 7 didn’t have a lot to do, made the most of the save he did have to make

Stockley: 6 Battled but when marked hard his lack of being able to beat a player showed
Leko: 6 disappointing, tried to play hold up when he should have run off the shoulder more

Opposition: 7 They didn’t show a lot in the first half but the goal gave them confidence

Kirk: 2 no passion, no commitment and little evidence of skill. He must have the ability so JJ needs to work out how to get the best out of him. Hopefully not in the first team again until he does.

So, I was at the ground and would not have had the benefit of any tv cameras but here’s my take. Kirk came on in the 63rd minute by which time our play was bordering on dreadful. Kirk showed for the ball in good positions several times but only seemed to get it too late mainly because Purrington was way too slow in releasing or Lee (in the main) couldn’t retain possession. Pearce’s lack of pace was exposed throughout the match and Stockley was just clattering around to no good effect. I may have been a bit harsh on Leko but I was disappointed in how he drifted out of the game after a good start, Washington would have made a huge difference running across their back line.Essex_Al said:
