Hi,
I'm new to this but have supported Charlton for a long time, so hi to everyone one here,
I've been looking at the players that have been released by clubs recently and there's some pretty decent players.
Players like:
Ivan Campo
Dean Bowditch
Wade Small
Chris Lunt
Tommy Milller
Jason Price
Rudi Skacel
Marciano van Homoet
Diego Leon

And the list probably goes on, but surely some of these players could do a decent job in League 1!

    I think he's on loan to millwall and being released by doncaster in the summer

    The list would probably be enormous, its football carnage this time of the year. I'd be very suprised if Millwall don't offer Price a contract.

    When are we releasing our out of contract players? Surely we can't still be paying them?

    Most of these players come from teams reasonably low in the chapionship (except ipswich) so wages aren't going to be huge. with some of the crap wehave coming off our wage bill soon, there wil be room for new earners.

    There's of course a reason why many of them have been released, we need to pick out the right ones, which isn't easy.

    Same situation a couple of years ago, we picked out Iwelumo, Weaver and Todorov, among others. Todorov has been a disaster, Weaver has been nothing more than decent in his better games and Iwelumo scored goals even if he was frustrating to watch at times (though it's all forgotten about now that we could have done with a player like him all season).

    jason price would be a great signing in my opinion, but i saw bowditch when he was at wycombe a few times, looked a bit like nice touches but one of those frustrating no end product players

    The players are under contract until June 30. But I suspect we'll know soon who'll stay and who'll go, that though may depend on whether we are offered money for any of the players who are under contract next year. For example if Bailey goes then perhaps that money might be used to persuade ZZ to sign a new contract, so maybe decisions are being delayed for that reason. Unless we have new owners with deep pockets the exit door is going to get a lot of use.
