League 1 - Standard of football

Based upon the first 45 minutes of the Millwall v Leeds Utd playoff 1st leg I am now quietly confident that Charlton can do ok next season. The standard of football by two of the "better" league 1 teams is quite frankly appalling even taking nerves into consideration. Providing Charlton don`t lose too many of the team v Norwich I rekon we will be fine.

I'd like to think that too...but all too often i've seen Charlton seem to lower their game to match their oppos game

It is a play off game, and quality goes out of the window

The better teams that have not only got promoted from League 1, but managed to survive comfortably in the Championship i.e. Swansea, Donny, Bristol City are based on solid players who play attractive football. After the season we've had, not a hope in hell we'll do what Swansea did and win League 1 in style, I expect a Derby esque hangover to be honest. But the need for 6ft Northern beasts in League 1 is no longer necessary to win promotion.

But when you think about it, the teams that have done well in that league in recent times all play decent attractive football... Swansea, Leicester, Doncaster, Peterborough, Scunthorpe two seasons ago all spring to mind. So hopefully we'll go with theory ourselves.

I have to say watching 'The Championship, I think you might be right.......But thenI'd hardly call Birmingham , Preston , Reading or Burnley world beaters .

So much depends on the team we can put out plus THe Valley effect will make the visitors think they are in the Premiership.

Only problem is that you're comparing that to the team that we have now. Subtract Fortune, Bailey, Shelvey and Racon and you can imagine those first 45 becoming an aspirational dream.
