Cordoban Addick said:Big thanks to everybody and anybody who sent me a get well message or general greeting they were very much appreciated.
As you can tell I haven't thanked you all individually (as planned), mainly because my eye sight is still pretty bad and let's face it I am unlikely to as time ticks on!
It is however worth saying again how much all messages meant to me. At a time when I was not sure about what was going on the positive messages made a real difference and grounded me I positivity.
So pleased I am part of this amazing forum.1 -

I had no memory of this thread existing and will explain how and why as you really are an amazing bunch.
In May 2022 I was told that the operation had not been a success and that there was a 40% chance of it all happening again. I opted for another brain operation and whilst ultimately successful in terms of looking like it fixed the original problem (will take several years until certain) it had a complication. Some glue rolled the wrong way and caused me to have a stroke which nearly killed me and meant I was off work for 8 months, I returned to work far to soon and after another 6 months left my role for a simpler job, but I was miles off being well in truth.
My memory was completely shot and has only really come back properly in the last few months, it was also difficult to come on here and even read what was happening although I have been lurking for a while.
Things are much better now and I would say I was 90% recovered and improving, it has been a long journey though! There are many people I would like to thank but particularly @Coyotejohn1947 and @PragueAddick. John has continually been supportive and popped in for a chat or to say hello, whilst I think that Richard has offered to effect a cure using Czech beer as the medicine (should I make it back to Prague).
Talking about myself does not come easy to me but thankyou all for your support and kindness.28 -
Good to hear your positive news Billy.I've known John since the 1960's, he really is a great bloke and we speak every month or so on the phone.Like me he doesn't come to many games now but when he does we meet up at the Valley Cafe for a good old natter.3

And as for Charlton's last couple of seasons, I think it is a lot longer than that but at least we are consistent!2 -

Good to see you back @Cordoban Addick and like others have greatly missed your input. I’m guessing you haven’t been able to get over to Zuheros very much? Mind you Covid etc has disrupted my longer visits to Andalusia over the last few years but heading over on Tuesday via Bilbao ferry.
Keep well mate.2 -

There is a great (friendly) Flamenco club in Doña Mencía, it is run by a bloke with hair colour one tone below jet black who goes by the name Rubio (blondie). They even did (nice) veggie food for us.
* This info is over 10 years old so is probably very out of date.

Keep well mate.
Have been once (last year) since lockdown and will go again at the next opportunity (money is tight!). Being ill makes you realise that life needs to be taken so the is idea is an early-ish retirement and then living there half the year. I need various other plans to fall into place though.
Un día disfrutaremos de varias cervezas en España. Soon I hope!
