Deano, who proved an outstadning success. When we were relegated the last thing I thought we needed was to spend £1 m on a keeper to get us out of the 2nd tier. How wrong I was, as Curbs brought a new legend to the Valley

    Alexandre Song and Zheng Zhi never knew of Zheng (other than he broke Cisse's good leg!) and Song just cos i didnt expect it!

    He had done well when he had played for Chelsea, didn't think we'd be lucky enough to get him on loan, that someone else would get him.

    Didn't quite work out like we hoped it would!

    Simmo for me too. Given what was happening to the club and where were at the time plus he'd been the best player in Europe only a few years before I can't see any other signing coming close to be as unexpected as that one. Total and utter quality with it and privilage to have seen him in our shirt albeit so briefly.

    Danny Murphy and Franny Jeffers, wasn't that on the same day? I seem to remember thinking my mate was winding me up as I'd just got back from holiday and had missed out on all things Charlton for a fortnight. I thought we were really going to push on with them two in the side...
