Cheltenham - pubs

Anyone got recommendations for pubs for the Cheltenham match ?

From Google maps, it doesn’t look like there is much near the ground

Best off getting a cab into the town centre then doing the 15/20 minute walk to the ground.

Was in Cheltenham a couple of months ago for the racing, we ended up in the Frog and Fiddle in the High Street, bit of a walk to the ground.

Cant remember the game but remember getting decent scoff at The Kemble Brewery which was very close to the ground - did we play a friendly there?

Sadly we're going to be in the Home terrace on Saturday.

Some decent pubs in Gloucester and pretty close by train from Cheltenham.

  • Well if we're going to talk about other places near by then nailsworth is a nice place to visit with a few good pubs. Maybe next season we could be playing Forest Green who play there.
  • Some decent boozers in Exeter.

Think it was a league cup game, in 2016.

Copa of Cheltenham was pretty decent last time I was there. Green King with some OK food and decent beer selection. I was surprised to see a few Beavertown offerings on draft last time out.

Definitely walkable to the ground from there.

Got mine but only come last week after ordering 14th December
  • Out of interest what's the train like going down there? I don't mean the scenery but connections and price.

My uncle used to live in the area and my cousin is still down there.

As a true Charlton supporter, that sounds perfect.

Picking mine up at the ground.  We're getting post less than once a week at the moment so there's no way I could trust it arriving in time.

The Kemble Brewery is only a 10m walk away and has a reasonable reputation as a drinking hole by the look of it.

    Taking the p!ss.
Ordered ours middle December,  another mate ordered sunday and his arrived today.
Club saying might need to pick up from ground.
B@llocks get someone from the Cheltenham box office to drop the tickets off to the pub we are in.

10 metres? More of a crawl than a walk ;-)

    Try minutes instead of metres.
  • Catch a cab from the train station into the town for £6 save the 25min walk. Yates, Revs, Spoons you name it plenty to choose from. 10/15 min walk from the town to the ground.
  • For those that want a gastro pub, quiet but decent real ale and food i would recommend The Old Court House, about halfway from the station to the ground

  • DEYA tap 😉
    Is the correct answer

  • Not Cheltenham, but waiting for the train at Paddington.
