    The Football Association is looking into a yellow card received by an Arsenal player in a Premier League match earlier this season following reports of irregular betting patterns.

    No details have been revealed over who the player is.

    But The Athletic reports that bookmakers contacted the FA after unusual betting patterns were spotted.

    An FA spokesperson said: "The FA is aware of the matter in question and is looking into it."

    It is understood that the matter is not under formal investigation by the FA.

    Talking on twitter that it's Xhaka in the last 10 minutes against Leeds when he was booked for time wasting. 

    Seems a big fuss over nothing, imagine Xhaka is the highest bet every single weekend for getting a booking.

    Fa wouldn't release a statement if there was something in it. Although admittedly he gets booked most games and is generally a Wreckless player.

    Might just be 'our Granit's a prick isn't he? Bet he does something stupid and completely avoidable before the end of the game'. Odds must have been 1-5000 anyway

    What a crock of shit. Operators have a statutory duty to report suspicious betting activity - the purpose is to try to to maintain the integrity of sport.

    Players involved have been cleared of any wrongdoing. Bookies fuming that they have to pay out.
