Good luck Beds, hope @paulsturgess post gives you the inspiration and focus to mentally attack the period ahead.
Hope it all goes to plan @DA98 -
Not the greatest news Beds, but reading some of the replies it sounds like there are some positive hopes with the Chemo. See what the next two weeks bring and then get your plan of action in place.
You are amongst friends on here mate so feel free to laugh, cry or get angry, we will support you.
If you feel like a proper chat, send me a message, I am a good listener.
Stay strong

DA9 said:So sorry to read this, I started my chemo today, the thing to remember is that it affects everybody differently. I learnt from talking to others that staying positive (or trying to) is a great help.
I have been through ups & downs, you will too, surround yourself with family & friends and lean on them whenever needed, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Happy to try and answer any questions via DM’s if you have any regards my own treatment (yours may well be different) it may help, it may not, but the offer is there as I’m further down that road.
good luck fella.4 -
Really sorry to hear this Beds, hope to God that chemo does the trick. Thoughts are with you. All the best to DA9 too, hope you both kick its arse back to hell.
Hope will never die, we're with you all the way.2 -
Good luck with the chemo Beds, Addenbrooks is a top place. I did a lot of research when I was diagnosed and outcomes are massively improved and directly impacted with the oncologists and surgeons caring for you with PC. You couldn’t be in better hands there.

A beautiful day today, @Bedsaddick and @DA9, perfect to inspire your fightback against this shitty disease.
Best wishes to you for the day. Get out and enjoy the chill and the sun. (That sounds a bit too much like Nigel, but what the hell).
Neither of you are in this alone.3 -
Oh DA9, I am sorry to learn that too. All the very best with you treatment and for every word said to Beds, it remains for you too. We’re all here for anything we can provide, you got this.3

ForeverAddickted said:Bedsaddick said:Not great news . Tumor too big so too risky to remove because of the connected blood vessels . Plan is to have a biopsy in the next week or two at Addenbrooks and see what kind of cancer it is then Chemo to try to shrink it . 👊🏻
My Father in Law has a form of cancer, that I think could have been easily treated - He only heard the words cancer though, and basically allowed it to defeat him from day one. He's still around (has had it for a few years), but think his life would have been so much better even now, had he taken a better approach to it.

Beds I hope the shrink chemo does not get you down, research how people deal with the effects of chemo and try the best ideas.
I reckon there is a chance it will shrink enough for surgery. Keep your spirits up for when the surgery comes.1 -
Thoughts, are with you Beds got everything crossed.

John, we are shocked to hear this devastating news. As the person responsible for your life's addiction to CAFC I'm not ready to lose a fellow Addick. So stay strong and fight this disease. We are thinking of you and willing you on. Just be sure that we will meet up again down The Valley and talk Charlton .6

It's fair to say we've not seen eye to eye on most things on here related to our club, but one thing we are aligned on is the fact that you can beat this illness... and I wish you all the luck in the world in doing so!5

It's been a month since i found i have a tumour on my pancreas and since then there has been a lot going on.
I am now under the countries top pancreatic specialist called Professor Giuseppe Fusai at the Royal Free hospital ( He was on BBC2 last week doing life saving pancreatic surgery.)
I will have to have whipple surgery but when and what type depends on more test results.
I don't want to say too much and temp fate , i have my fifth scan this week ( i'm fully radioactive now!) but the prognosis is much more optimistic than originally thought but i will give a update in a week or so.
Thanks again for all your kind words.145 -
