I think a few people need to have a think about where we are as a club and be more realistic
Warburton would be a class appointment !2 -

Anyone we are realistically going to get will either have a failer on their CV, lack experience or be taking a big step up in terms of size of club and expectations.0 -

TS must know him - and he does like being popular.Although I expect you’re whooshing here?
Leg End.
And being caught out on dope testing as a yoof player.
He went down to Brighton or Margate for a weekend away clubbing it with some pals from the Lewisham Mods scene.
Biggest mistake of his life.
He swallowed some Doobs, Purple Hearts (SKF’s), I was never exactly sure of how the info got back to The Valley but sadly for him somehow it did.
Now this fella was clearly looking like he was going to make the grade all the way but he was history in seconds flat.
How times have changed!
Al’s elder brother Bill of course manages The Who and that was his link to appearing in the movie.Fortunately, Quadrophenia was made a few years after this because there is no way in the world that Curbs would have passed for a Mod with the shocking curly perm that he sporting in that photo!!! 😱😂1 -
Warburton would be a manager I would be happy with.0

I can't recall this can anyone verify please? Hoping this is not the case and Beale is a possibility. Thomas has verified to me that he tried to contact Beale last time. This is the problem when you tend to be a little garrulous.1

Intriguing that Thomas has said that the club have been ambitious over and above the likes of Michael Beale. I suspect most would feel he’s at the top end of the range probably available to us. Let’s hope Michael doesn’t get to read the comment.1

Liam Manning worked for Man City's network for Lommel so a "higher" level perhaps.
Certainly plays a high pressing, passing style.
And could be out of the play-offs by this evening.
Whether he'd see a move to Charlton as a step up or even wise is a different question8 - Sponsored links:

Manning is my preferred choice1

Warburton would be brilliant but I doubt he would want to join the setup we have in place if it’s true he will have little say on recruitment. Probably rules out most experienced English managers so will probably have to be a young unproven English coach (Beale) or a foreign coach where this model is more common.Personally would like us to go for a younger L1/L2 manager doing well. Michael Duff would be my choice but Bonner(Cambridge) and Matt Taylor (Exeter) also options. But again they probably have a lot of control at their current clubs so may not wish to join a setup where they have limited say on recruitment1

Warburton could bring in Charlie Austin who despite his age would be a good short term addition in League One.3

Warburton is an arse.
He talks a lot of guff that impresses the media but none of my Glaswegian family were crying into their beer when he got the old heave hoe at Rangers.
I doubt he would want to join a club where he has little say over recruitment, which was why he left Brentford, and I expect he wants to manage in the Champo.
If he does join us, I expect it would be a lot like the Adkins era.
Management speak and ineffectual football.
I would rather see us employing a young coach with a clear plan than seeing one of the same old faces getting the job.
Either way, Sandgaard has to get this right.
I for one am beginning to think Tommy might just be another Duchatelet with a guitar.

Michael Beale is a maybe, but realistically how much is he earning, 20 - 30 k a week? no idea, I can’t believe we can pay him at the moment anything near what he’s on at the moment already, can’t see it happening, even if he does talk a good game.
The fella at MK dons is a possibility if they miss out on promotion, but how much say does he have in things at the moment?0 - Sponsored links:

Can’t see Liam Manning coming to us. He’s got a team at the top end of the league playing his way, why he would want to start from scratch with us? He will stay with Mk until a championship team poaches him, which could be this summer anyway as there are already rumours15

Maybe he didn't get permission but spoke anyway which is why Beale was annoyed when TS mentioned him publicly.
Beale is a former Charlton youth player and has spoken fondly of the club which maybe why he gets talked about so much in these situations.
Not to say that he isn't a very good candidate but that link perhaps means he's mentioned more than other similar coaches.
There doesn't seem to be much leaking to reliable sources like Cawley which suggests, if you're an optimist, that TS is keeping things under wraps or, if you're a golfie, nothing has been done, process hasn't started and we'll get Welling's reserve manager in September.4 -

warburton has done very well for 3 years building at QPR from there own fans words bringing together what was a toxic club from top to bottom pretty similar to us atm really and getting them playing good football also on a limited budget
he also had decent success at rangers and brentford
Not too say a young manager wouldnt work but the more unknown and unproven managers might work against them with sandgaard and also what we need right now we shall see1
