Fantastic result. Let's hope we see all these lads playing in the first team next season.
As he is no longer with the club, I don’t think I am betraying a confidence by telling you that Jackson told me Kanu had a lot to learn before being ready for the first team.

@golfaddick is that an extreme Golfie?
Nah, it's just a double golfie. Extreme might be coming back from 3 down, or that might just be a triple golfie?

They all do... the first 50mins showed that today

Dont think it'll hurt to involve a good few of them in the First Team during pre-season.

But the kids need to progress properly, and without pressure of needing a result.

For starters they dont need to worry at present about pressure from the stands if they make a mistake

That was brilliant. Crowd getting behind the lads, getting on the refs back a little late on and a great comeback by the boys. Thought we were pretty average for the 1st hour, but once we got one back we sensed the fear and steam rollered them! #16 made the difference for us when he came on, they just couldn't handle him! Who is he? Thought our #'s 4 and 8 were good too. Their #3 was impressive. COYA

Edit. Got to mention Kanu too. They dealt with him pretty well, mainly by fouling him, but one chance and it was in the net. Top stuff. Really hope we can get him in the team and hold onto him for at least a season or so.

Such composure once he got the ball to create the space for himself and then find the bottom corner, this kid will go far.

I'd be interested to know if a Charlton player at any level (U18 or above) has ever got 40 goals in a season for us.

Great last 15 minutes, subs and change of shape made a massive difference. Really enjoyed being there today.

What a magnificent comeback - a real testament to the character of this side after a fairly tepid first 70 minutes.

Very impressed with Anderson’s composure and Bower’s first touch and left foot - and what a finish from Kanu. Huke and Miles Leaburn also made a big difference when they came on, as did switching our athletic centre-half to right back.

    Looking forward to the final

Nice insight. I would like the club to be bold in the next few years give a few more of these young lads a chance. Let them sink or swim. The fans can get behind something a little bit more personal rather that putting up with journeyman players on their way down.

Can they though... Mason Burstow suddenly went from being a promising player to overrated simply because he got a life changing move to Chelsea, and because he got thrown into the first team on a regular basis far too often, when he clearly wasnt ready - Am sure opinions wouldn't have changed had he stayed

But he is proof how quickly the fans can turn even on the kids.

    @Blucher was Leaburn #16? I'm assuming so!

Yes it was, if the team sheet on Pg.1 is correct

Think that was my favourite match of the season. Some quality football played, and they really deserved the win.
Kanu, quality finish, Ryan ‘Barry Bannon’ Fuke, quality finish, Nathan Asiimwe, magnificent header for the winner.
Martin Sandgaard sitting behind us with Steve Gallen.
Good to bump into @pico, and Charlton Life’s own rebel, @seth plum
    Post match huddle:

What a win, thoroughly deserved for the never say die spirit, love the shot of the post match huddle, what a result, a real team performance, can't get enough of watching this team play, so on to the final, and on this showing only one result, WIN and crowned champions, COYU18s.. B)

    Just got back.

We were poor early on and Barnsley deserved their lead but they started to time waste  and commit a lot of shirt pulls that went unpunished.

Putting Leaburn on meant we went more direct and we started to trouble them, Huke's running worried them and he scored a very nice goal.

I was very impressed with the 14 whose name I can't spell.

Shored up the defence, strong, big, good on the ball. He's a real prospect.

Crowd sense the comeback and was voicing its frustration at the weak referring.

Barnsley wilted at 2 - 2 and we looked the likely winners.

Really pleased I went. Met Martin Sandgaard and he gave me the inside track on the managerial appointment.

Hope the final is at the Valley.

Any one know how the venue for the final is decided? If it's the valley at a weekend I would go.

So glad I went, as already said a tepid first 70 minutes, but once Miles Leaburn  & Ryan Huke ( a superb little player with quick feet & a quick brain) came on we played on the front foot.
The crowd helped suck the ball into the net as well.

No good dominating the season if you stumble in the playoffs. Barnsley have looked the superior side today to be honest
Well done to the U18s today.  Great stuff and wonderful to see them make a final.

I think if the runners up win the other semi it's at the Valley.

If it's the other champions, Sheffield Utd, then toss of a coin but not sure on any of that.

The first team did it under JJ when he was caretaker once Bowyer left. 2-0 down to Bristol Rovers & came back to win 3-2.

    Well that was enjoyable!

leaburn and Huke made a big difference.

#14 is Laqueretabua.  He’s a young one I think and someone I rate very highly

passing wasn’t very crisp today and I think the occasion might have got to a few of them but glad we got the win and can go on to the national final now.

16 was @Tracey's son Miles Leaburn, 4 was Matt Dench and 8 was Karoy Anderson, who I think was captain.
