Her ambitions about the Women's Champions League and competing with Barcelona, are not comparable with playing in the men's the Champions League and competing with Barcelona.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big supporter of women's football, but I don't think it's yet reached the stage where Chelsea's women's team is a bigger deal than Charlton.0 -

Profile wise I reckon Hayes would be better know by the general public then any League 1 manager, WSL games on terrestrial free to air and her profile generally is huge. Infrastructure wise, Thomas has plans for SL but it isn’t Cobham, and money wise I’m taking a guess, but I don’t think she’s on bad money at Chelsea, suspect she’s one of the highest earning women in team sport in EuropeJamesSeed said:

If Hayes is the best candidate then fine but purely because she’s a woman it’s a massive gamble. No reason why that should be the case but if it went tits up the potential for egg on face and I told you so’s would be enormous.0

Solskjaer is spending more time with his money and would Michael Carrick be interested in the job at Cafc after doing a decent job with the giant egos at old Trafford.

I would far rather he went through a thorough process than just went on a name. There are some really excellent and exciting young coaches/managers around and it’ll be worth the extra week/ten days to get the right one.If it is Beale that they have their eye on and there is a chance, I can imagine he’d want to wait until after the Man City game next weekend.
The right appointment is worth waiting for.2 -

I know MW's not coming here, but spoke to a QPR fan today who mentioned they had been blighted with injuries, played their 5th choice keeper, just missed out on the playoffs ( bit gutted) but their form in the last 10 - 12 games was relegation form , they were in the top 6.
Shipped loads of goals from set pieces, were big on a Zonal defence ( which didn't work) had a lot of players under 25 , linked with Manning (thats us out then) Charlie Austin is leaving QPR apparently , as he's not played much.

Its not really dragging on at all. Season not over for all teams yet. Interviews / conversations do take some time realistically.

The South London Press has been told that paying the compensation for Beale to leave Villa is not likely to be an issue for the US-based Dane.

I do feel a bit like Watford rushed their appointment. Forest Green looked great for a lot of the season but they limped over the line at the end, only winning 4 of their last 17 games, losing 6 and drawing 7. They ended up only winning the title on goal difference (level with Matt Taylor's Exeter) and I feel like if the season had gone on a couple of weeks longer Bristol Rovers might have overtaken them. Some people are turning their noses up at Taylor signing for us as a League One manager but Watford have brought him in as a Championship manager with aims to be back in the Premier League after a year, a L2 manager with two thirds of an excellent season behind him. I hope he does well, I like him, but they've really not hung around on what is quite an ambitious appointment for him

A close friend of mine (late 60's) Managed boys football teams when her lads were young. As they got older she continued and even when they packed in she continued. Don't get me wrong it wasn't Chelsea FC, but she was respected and headhunted at times, by rival men's teams, as she got numerous promotions etc. He son in his 40's was a UK national title speedskater and remains so in veterans class. As such her ability to coach and support sportsmen and women, is based on her people skills. She has gone toe to toe with blokes that got upset at being subbed or not picked and they've usually come back and apologised.Northstandpieeater said:Cor woman cant manage men because of biological differences. I'm not suggesting that a novice woman should manage Charlton, but an experienced female coach shouldn't be discounted.

Another factor is will TS be giving out more these performance based contracts?Not sure Beale would be happy to leave Villa if he gets very little compensation should we not make the play-offs.It’s one thing to require the new manager to change the entire playing philosophy, which usually takes years, it’s another thing to expect immediate results.4

I'd be happy with Carrick, Warburton, Beale or Taylor
Emma Hayes may well be the best candidate and someone somewhere will take a punt on her sooner rather than later - she's clearly very good at her job, but personally I think we are enough of a basket case club without the inevitable circus that will follow whichever professional men's team do appoint her. That and I don't particularly like her when I've heard her as a pundit etc. I'd rather appoint one of the other 4 mentioned and go quietly about our business assembling a team of free transfers to storm the league4 -
Does anyone realistically think Michael Carrick would come to League One?
His reputation and name is surely at that level where he gets a Championship job right out the gate (similar to Rooney, Lampard etc).0 -
I think the contract Jackson got was because Thomas didn't want him in the first place and had already written off the season.
