Anyone know a decent pub walking distance from the Sparrows Lane entrance to the Training Ground.

I only know the New Eltham Social Club.

Thanks.

No decent pubs - only The Beehive.

Out the training ground, first turning on the right (Tiverton Rd), follow it to the end then left into Lannoy Road and immediate right into Reventlow Road. Follow it to the end and Hive is just along the main road on the right. Best of luck!

Actually Henry, if you're going there today I'll see you in there if you like and you can buy me a pint. I'm off today.

The Beehive is a karsy and full of chavvy, never go to the games, Spanners.

    Cheers all,

Got to take the new owners out for a drink for a bit of social bonding with some fans. Get a feel for the club and all that.

I'll whisper you if you are invited.

Isn't the Beehive a Millwall dump?

I might try the Social Club.

There's nothing the Avery Hill side until you get up towards Blackfen. It's the Beehive or nowt I'm afraid. Mind you, I can thoroughly recommend the off licence opposite the Co-op - very impressive range of bottled ales. Get yourself a couple of tins and sit in the park.

Thanks but maybe not the impression I'm trying to give.

From the training ground I'd say it's a good 15-20 minute walk, maybe more.

You could always go into the Greek restaurant on the corner and have a few glasses of Keo.

That would be a bit like taking coals to Newcastle.

OK, but don't blow the deal by turning up pished like you did with the last lot. We'll run out of buyers if we're not careful.

and cover up those tattoo's. Bit of a no no in their part of the world I'm told.

I have great respect for Peter Varney but sometimes I do wonder why he chose you to be his chief negotiator ; - )

I seriously would not recommend the Beehive.

I think your option is either to go in the social, walk 15 mins to the Charcoal, jump on a train 1 stop to Sidcup then go in the Alma, or don't bother at all
  • cos i am always Pished apparently it helps ;-)
