As it seems we are now only waiting for confirmation to appear on the official site, perhaps it's time to reflect that this thread may soon be confined to the anal's.
It's been an emotional rollercoaster fellow Lifer's, with several protracted heated debates and deviations off thread.
After 225 pages and counting, I felt it only right to say a few words. I'm sure I speak for all in saying that I shall mourn it's passing as it will leave a big hole. 🤧1 -

Safe to say THomas couldn’t confirm it last week because it wasn’t confirmed - so he’s not a liar he’s just dealing with what was accurate at the time.
time will tell soon enough if it’s the right appointment but hopefully a new coaching setup as well as those already there - will give us more of a sense of identity. I look forward to it if it’s true.A couple of weeks ago I had a long chat with one of the senior employees at Charlton. He said the following
”Thomas doesn’t get involved in the day to day squad stuff, and doesn’t choose the transfers and leaves that to others more qualified. He just signs the cheques
Are things perfect? - No they aren’t. Have mistakes been made? - yes they have but we are definitely going in the right direction. This is as stable as the club has been at any time in the last five years”
There were plenty of other things discussed but I felt it was quite important to point out that there is so much that happens, is said and is done that we don’t get to hear about. Even when it looks like there is nothing happening there is usually a shit load going on. Last season was crap - we all know that. But if we can get behind whoever the new manager turns out to be and support this team we might see it pay dividends. A toxic atmosphere helps no-one but the opposition
im excited for pre season, and excited to see us playing some entertaining football for the first time in a while but what I REALLY want to have is a more unified fan base getting behind the team and a team that understands the journey we want to go on.Fingers crossed
as I’ve said many times, it’s never been easy being a Charlton fan but I’ll never stop being one66 -

It's more a reflection on them than TS.
Let's try & be sensible and see what happens. Reading the negativity is exhausting.13 -

Just need Thomas to deny it to complete the loop.1 -

👌👌

Cawley saying “done deal” is a journalist breaking a story based on a certain degree of finality to proceedings
Thomas saying “ it’s not done yet” is a businessman who knows it’s not done until the ink is dry.
Turns out both can be valid33 -

Almost all of the criticism Thomas gets, fair or other wise, comes from what he says.1 -

Ok, I'm going to look at this in a more hopeful optimistic manner. As someone alluded to above perhaps this is taking a long time because BG has insisted on some of the ways of operating as a club as he sees fit and correct, starting with getting his own team in.
Maybe he is a persuasive guy who will get TS to change his ideas.
Maybe, just maybe..........2
