time will tell soon enough if it’s the right appointment but hopefully a new coaching setup as well as those already there - will give us more of a sense of identity. I look forward to it if it’s true.A couple of weeks ago I had a long chat with one of the senior employees at Charlton. He said the following
”Thomas doesn’t get involved in the day to day squad stuff, and doesn’t choose the transfers and leaves that to others more qualified. He just signs the cheques
Are things perfect? - No they aren’t. Have mistakes been made? - yes they have but we are definitely going in the right direction. This is as stable as the club has been at any time in the last five years”
There were plenty of other things discussed but I felt it was quite important to point out that there is so much that happens, is said and is done that we don’t get to hear about. Even when it looks like there is nothing happening there is usually a shit load going on. Last season was crap - we all know that. But if we can get behind whoever the new manager turns out to be and support this team we might see it pay dividends. A toxic atmosphere helps no-one but the opposition
im excited for pre season, and excited to see us playing some entertaining football for the first time in a while but what I REALLY want to have is a more unified fan base getting behind the team and a team that understands the journey we want to go on.Fingers crossed
as I’ve said many times, it’s never been easy being a Charlton fan but I’ll never stop being one
I can't criticise TS because people can't read & comprehend, what they are reading.
He said they were still interviewing. Then a couple of days later he said it was narrowed it down to 2 or 3.
More to the point he shouldn't be telling random fans on LinkedIn and Twiiter DMs anything at all should he? Other than when there is something I can tell you I will but until then I can't?
He didn't say it wasn't complete, he denied there was any truth to it all. Didn't no comment it. He even said he had no idea where Cawley got the story from.
The best thing for him to do was say nothing. Wasn't it.

Garner probably has agreed a 2 year deal, very different from signed.
who knows what the hold up is but Cawley probably has this nailed on.5 -

Her post doesn't mean Garner isn't signing. Cawley says he's agreed a 2 year deal. She says that's not correct. Doesn't mean he isn't signing, it could mean that he's agreed a 3 year deal!

Would have been for the best if Mrs Sandgaard had not said a thing and we would have found out early this week what’s being announced. Can’t understand why she would do that.8 -
Maybe Raelynn is just on a wind up. She must read this thread and think “hey big boy, watch what happens when I chuck a grenade in!”4
-
Not sure why it's TS's fault IF false information is being leaked and reported on. Also doesn't wind my up as much as it does some people that they're challenging the reports. Reckon it would be quite frustrating, things getting constantly leaked before the t's are crossed, whether the story is accurate or not.5
-
Perhaps Garner's team come as a job lot and they're still ironing out the details for the number 2, 3 and DoF.
Sandgaard would definitely haggle for a Bogof deal if that is the case.3 -

He didn't dismiss Garner.
The deal wasn't, and still isn't, done.
He wasn't, quite rightly and refreshingly, talking up something that hadn't, as yet, happened.
He wasn't lying, he was being discreet.Cawley, our reliable journo says we have agreed comp for Garner, he will be manager
a fan of ours messages TS and asks ‘are the reports incorrect’
our owner replies ‘Yes’, outright denying the link.We know Cawley is now telling the truth, so that leaves 2 possibilities, the poster on here photo shopped an image, or our owner has denied a manager, he knew was coming in, to I can only assume announce himself. If it’s the third, which is where my money goes, as much as I like him, he has lost credibility. Cheers 🥂
edit: the plot thickens! I did not foresee his wife entering the fray
Could it be that after two weeks of further interviews, it is now done or at least nearing completion.1 -

Would have been for the best if Mrs Sandgaard had not said a thing and we would have found out early this week what’s being announced. Can’t understand why she would do that.I understand we live in a social media world which has completely torn up the communication playbook, but it reeks of unprofessionalism, especially if Garner is the one to be appointed.
I don’t like to be pessimistic or get involved in the discourse about TS, but it does set my alarm bells going when we’ve now had JJ and potentially Garner’s contract situation rumble on like this.15 -

"Understand that to be correct"
Could be any one detail that is incorrect, term, salary, structure etc
I have a feeling neither TS or Mrs TS appreciate Cawley reaching out to leaks in the club rather than contacting direct.3 -

This smacks of “we’ll decide what is said and when” and that’s a battle they will never win.
More important, if you’re “still interviewing” five weeks after your own decision to remove the manager I’d suggest you have a bigger problem.77 -

The ‘we’ll decide what’s said and when’ is permeating society in general and it’s dangerous.Journalists are becoming redundant because they’re being lumped in with cyber bullies and trolls.
It’s their job to uncover the truth. From new Charlton managers to dodgy politicians.20 -

Bravo @KiwiValleyQuantum mechanics is the meaning of life. The signing of Ben Garner can only happen when no one is watching. This is Heisenberg uncertainty principle meets Schrödinger's cat. Charlton's fate being linked to a random subatomic event that may or may not occur.3 -
