Doesn't a club usually say 'we have given permission for him to speak to Charlton' or something like that? Have Swindon asked us not to announce anything until they have someone in place?3

Who in their right mind would buy the club if it didn't include the valley.
Mistakes made will cost him money in the long run , no CEO on the ground being the most obvious. We just have to hope he learns quickly and backs off social media a bit.5 -
Rob said:It’s obvious it’s a done deal but some negotiations are still ongoing. That’s my take. And if Thomas wants to do things that way I’m fine with that. Why should he tow the line and do things the way the journos want him to, for example. He’s a big boy and will do it his own way. It will be officially announced when he’s ready and that’s his prerogative in my opinion.14

Hire in haste, repent at leisure, rather it takes "forever" and get the right people in, that is more important than acting hastily and regretting it,...Yes i know it has been 5 weeks and counting, no need to remind me that,,..WIOTOS all in good time, just chill..🍺🍺7 -

Well I don't care who eventually gets the job, I am prepared to give them 30 seconds before piss taking commences...7

Wild and crazy speculation by me but I hope that Sandgaard isn't going to pull out of a 99.99% done deal re: Garner and appoint a second or third choice just to "prove" it wasn't actually a "done deal".
No reason at all to think he'd be so petty but this whole thing is turning so soap opera I can't help but wonder.1 -

I really don’t see what the problem is with the club statement? They’ve been forced into responding because of all the wild speculation that’s going around and not put out by the club, which seems perfectly understandable to me.
Yes, we all wish a new manager, coaching staff and players were all in place but the reason they ain’t is presumably stuff going on behind the scenes that very few if any, know about.I imagine Sandgaard and all would’ve liked the same but it is what it is and why add to the furore by creating and kicking up such a fuss over things unknown?A bit surprising that the deal has been done and his back room staff deal has not been completed as this could put him in an invidious position. Or have those deals also been done and compensation agreed?

The media also have a right to report on the club's affairs as they see fit within the law regardless of what the current owner thinks about that.
Let's see how it plays out, shall we? The media view is that Garner has the job - I doubt if a qualification over job title, contract length, etc, would seem to most people a proportionate reason to rubbish the stories that are out there.
If the media have it substantively wrong then they will get the reputational hit. That's the nature of the business.10 -
Anyone else thinking of transferring their allegiance to Swindon?3

Oh and we would all fall in love with Jonny Williams again, then find out he had been sold to Forest Green Rovers or injured or both.1 -

Are the club deliberately misleading or simply not wanting information out there that's either false or misleading?1 -

Why do we make a pig's ear out of everything? That is the question at the front of my mind.4

If the folk at Swindon are holding out for more dosh they must have extremely short memories.
On the 11th March 2000 we were 12 points ahead in the division, Swindon were 6 points adrift at the bottom. Dean Kiely presented them with an own goal - and three points at the Valley. Not only that but we gave Willie Carson a cheque for 2 grand on the pitch at half time cos they were so hard up.
I mean, talk about ungrateful, tight sods they should gift us their management team.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOHODMlGHrU
