Will never happen, OB would never let it go ahead.

They've a new 25 year lease on SP.

Any new freeholder will have to honour that lease as they are sitting tenants.

    Never.
The Valley is Charlton's after one heck of a fight to get it back, and should remain so. I would fight any suggestion/chance of this, could you expect other club's fans to treat the ground with the respect it deserves? I feel strongly about this and I’m sure lots of other fans would also, my old man would turn in his grave a mere hint of it. Thankfully, I don't believe Richard Murry would entertain this as an idea anyway, should it ever look like it may happen.

Good idea, we'll give them a portacabin near the Bartram Gates.

I don't know that we treated the grounds we were in badly. After all ground-sharing meant the club survived, many seem to forget this was a decision to save the club without a ground share we would not exist.

And don't blame the fans, they don't like it anymore than we do, but if Palace died who would be have left as part-time rivals!

    ...........

    It will be sold...

But Croydon Council will have to give any new owner planning permission to develop the ground for housing etc and I think they'll want to retain it as a football stadium.

Well I've put in a bid with the administrators.

I've also put in a planning application with Croydon Council.

So my future view of SP looks something like this.......

Just seen the new "Lotto" advert,
1st time I've smiled seeing Selhurst Park since Toddy's winner.
Wonder how much the orange-one charged.....

edit: 1st time people actually breaking IN to that karzi ?
  • It'll never happen for so many reasons it's just not worth thinking about. Yep the ground will be sold but at such a low price I'd be suprised if there aren't enough grannybashers out there willing to chip in and secure it for Palace. No property developer in his right mind would be willing to take it on.

I remember that day all to well.
Walking down Floyd Road, glancing at this piece of paper, throwing it away, stopping, turning round and picking it up.
    "What the F............?".

If I had the money I would.

Work it out. £15m for the ground - a sitting tenant with a lease signed for nearly £1.3m for the first year with built in rent rises and lump sum payments over 25 years. That's a yield of nearly 10% PA.

As Del Boy would say Loverlee Juberlee.

I wonder if that's why Paul Kelmsley wasn't on the apprentice this year. A lot of mouth, a lot of leverage and ummm not really much innovation. Sounds like the three amigos Kelmsley, Ashley and Sugar. All three have about as dynamic business sense as a bankrupt warehouse.
