    As someone who is 31 and started supporting Charlton properly when I was about 15/16, I don't think I will ever enjoy a period as much as Powell's time in charge.

    Chris Powell is very good at what he does. He is one of a kind.

    The extra pushing effort provided by him when he was in charge of Charlton - was the actions of a man who simply loves the club.

    No one else would have done what he did.

    Man alive, I loved Chris Powell. I went to see Fred Wesley, James Brown’s trombonist, and saw Powell there. Went and spoke to him about about what a hero he is. Spoke to me for about 15 minutes. Even gave me a man hug. So I can vouch that, yes, he is the nicest bloke in the world.
