In a new tactic to encourage passing, free flowing football league one side Charlton Athletic have received permission from the FA and UEFA to play home games without touchlines in the 2022/23 season.
Addicks boss Ben Garner said "We think touchlines and incessant throw-ins slow the game down and reduce the skill level. It's called "football" not "throw ball".
An UEFA spokesperson said that they were always looking at ways to improve the game and would watch this experiment closely.

No touchlines..?
Memories of playing with mates at school...
One lad hoofing the ball without a second thought, everyone chasing the ball off to the left most pitch (interrupting younger kids games in the process) and it would take 15 minutes for it to come back towards the goalmouth.3 -
Perhaps we’re widening the pitch to support our new passing style?…1

more cutbacks!!1

Get rid of those wooden goal things and use jumpers/cardigans instead. Ref can then give a goal if it sort of looks like it's inbetween them. Should lead to higher scoring games.1

Why would anyone bother making this up ? Proper weird. Go out and enjoy the sunshine 🌞Henry Irving said:In a new tactic to encourage passing, free flowing football league one side Charlton Athletic have received permission from the FA and UEFA to play home games without touchlines in the 2022/23 season.

Surprised that the article failed to include information on the new perspex upper tier of the Jimmy Seed Stand3

Roland hasn't paid for the rest of the white paint yet according to a source online.0

A shame Famewo wasn't still here. When he hoofed the ball into the Curbs stand, he could climb up into the stand and kick the ball back into play3

I like the Charlton goal up against The Covered End. As it’s off the pitch, the ball will be out of play for a goal kick before it can enter the net, ergo we can never concede.
