Twelve armed officers swooped on Mr and Mrs Gait's home, even though they did not possess any drones and had been at work during the reported sightings.
How did they ever get pegged for it?0 -
And why does it cost £145k to sort it out?2

This is a colossal waste of funds.
How the police got this so wrong is quite worrying. I dread to think what would have happened if they were black1 -

Something is wrong with society when the couple only got 55K and the lawyers 145K.
Maybe they choose the wrong lawyers but even so, this is ridiculous.

I an age where people use their phones to film themselves picking their toe nails to climbing up Everest, I find it hard to believe that there wasn't one single video sighting of the Gatwick drone.
Maybe because their wasn't one!0 -
Didn’t someone get a nice big contract (£5M) from this?0

BBC
The UK is set to become home to the world's largest automated drone superhighway within the next two years.
The drones will be used on the 164-mile Skyway project connecting towns and cities, including Cambridge and Rugby.
It is part of a £273m funding package for the aerospace sector which will be revealed by Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng on Monday.
Other projects include drones delivering mail to the Isles of Scilly and medication across Scotland
