Saw this mentioned on Quest tonight and thought I'd have a quick look.

Stockdale appears to have gone full on David Brent, I actually thought it was a spoof at first but the more I looked the more I think its completely genuine.

Vomited over my phone halfway through that. If he was chocolate  he’d eat himself.

The Man. The Athlete. The Businessman. The Philanthropist. The Pundit.

It's David Stockdale's world and we're all lucky to be living in it.

To relax, he enjoys nothing more than spending time with his family; a low-key fishing trip; or spending time driving his classic 1986 Ferrari Mondial.

    ..was a favourite. Nice flex.

To relax, I enjoy nothing more than spending time on my own; not going fishing; or spending time boiling H2O in my 2020 Russell Hobbs kettle.

    No big deal.

You’ve never travelled, where have you been ?
    ….Hull.

    Brent/Stockdale = same person.

ITV to broadcast EFL highlights from next season. The start of a two-season partnership.

Well at least we'll get to see our highlights next season but possibly not the season after!
  • Why?

The ITV package sounds exactly the same as the Quest show anyway. Indeed it wouldn't surprise me if they carry most of it forward, as the Quest show is similar to the previous C5 version and made by the same company

Quest have done a good job. Hope ITV don’t muck about too much with a successful format. I hope Murray, Holloway and the podcast bloke get the gig too.

This could be bad news. I’m really surprised at this. Unless Quest are aiming to bid for live games. I would take that.

Quest coverage is fantastic. Knowledgeable pundits too

Agreed, I'd have liked to see ITV get some live games as well but we all know sky won't give that up

Quest could be showing live Premier League as soon as next season. Discovery are dead set on getting in on our live football.

Looks like the ITV focus is the Championship with the scraps for the other leagues.

I don’t ever recall a tournament or weekly show where the ITV output has been particularly good.

'The show will be broadcast on itv4 and Iplayer every 3am, on a wednesday morning'

    sounds great

Not good if that is the case, not just because of us either.

The big question is whether they keep the 2 hour programme that Quest has

Moving from 90 minutes to 2 hours (with adverts) made a massive difference to the Quest programme, as it meant that L1 and L2 got half an hour each and time for some decent analysis and a few non goal highlights, whereas before it literally was just the goals, indeed the C5 programme for L1 and L2 was called goalrush!

Same as now then and it would be mental to expect the focus to be on L2 & L1 over The Championship.

The ITV programme will fortunately be fairly similar, a 2 hour programme with many of the same pundits including the excellent George Elek and Ali Maxwell

Produced by IMG like the Quest programme too.

That's good. No mention of Clinton Morrison as well. Happy days

Well, as Wolves aren't even going to be on, it does seem an unnecessary decision.

So we lose the excellent Colin Murray for Hugh Woozencroft.
    I can't say I'm surprised.

Honestly though, Jules Breach isn’t a bad alternative at all… just hopefully she isn’t stuck on midweek duties and we hardly see her!
