At a hearing in March 2022, it was revealed that Vardy had a costs budget of nearly £900,000, while Rooney's costs were estimated to be about £400,000."

What a ridiculous waste of money all round. Pretty obvious she was guilty when a) Rooney wouldn't have gone public with it otherwise and b) the evidence on her assistants phone conveniently ended up in the North sea.

This is a slight misinterpretation of the verdict, because Rebekah Vardy hasn't been found "guilty" of any crime; neither has anyone else.  She's "merely" lost a case that she (stupidly) brought to court.

The true vicitim in all this is that poor phone that got dropped into the sea for no reason. Its sacrifice was in vain

This is all part of a background noise to me. Something that you can zone out from and just get on with life, but it does have the capacity to enter your conciousness momentarily, wind you the fuck up, then evaporate back into the twattersphere!

She lost the libel case because it became clear that she HAD done what she had been accused of. Not not guilty in the strict legal definition, but guilty in the wider sense.

Jamie Vardy was in court yesterday (I believe). Not sure about other days.

Just seen this. Why has the courtroom artist drawn Tony Mowbray??

I meant pretty obvious that she or someone in her team was guilty of feeding the stories of Coleen to journo's.

    Brilliant news.
Can't wait for the Netflix series.

Katie Price to play Rebekah Vardy
    Mackenzie Crook playing Jamie Vardy
Jodie Whitaker to play Coleen Rooney
James Corden to play Wayne Rooney

I now understand why Jamie Vardy's mum and his stepdad who got Jamie to Football games and home when he had the tag after being a bad boy wanted nothing to do with the opportunist woman when she ditched her lower League boyfriend and the myriad of celebs she met on her journey, including "Small cock" Aussie ex of Katie Price, Peter Andre.

I know Rebekah Vardy is as thick as shit but seriously, how can anyone be so badly advised?

She clearly had NO IDEA that in a case like this that the lawyers get to do a “discovery” phase in which they will find a whole bunch of VERY embarrassing and incriminating information pertaining to the case.

You only had to see what the defence actually tabled in court to see she was up to her neck in it, what a bloody moron.

When physicists talk about the insignificance of the human race given the age of the universe, something like this hammers it home even more

Insignificant? I’ll have you know the human race has managed to completely screw up a planet 4 1/2 billion years old in only 400 years. The quicker we are all wiped out by elephant pox, the better it will be for all the other lifeforms on Earth.
  • "Rebekah Vardy may be forced to sell her family's beloved Portuguese villa after losing her libel battle against Coleen Rooney and facing a multi-million-pound legal bill."

Surely that should say Jamie Vardy may be forced to sell his villa to pay for his wife's stupidity.

    She'll be fine.

The wagatha Christ story is a selling point in itself.

She just needs to keep her trap shut for a few months, and then do a "Rebecca vardy tells all" story for a mag or save it for a loose women Christmas special etc.

"I think Coleen Rooney tried to have an affair with my hubby" is a potential headline of cash desperation.

"The Goss"...is where the money is.

  • If you want evidence of how pathetic the human race can be this case shows it. I'm stunned at the level of coverage it has been given.

All this money wasted for nothing.

The bit I always have trouble understanding is with know all the evidence known, both parties will be pretty sure how things will pan out. Especially with these two people’s evidence, dropped phone in the sea. Nobody on planet earth has ever done that and tried to convince intelligent people that’s what happened. But the barristers still plod on while knowing it’s all a fantasy at best. With the amount of money sloshing about it’s obvious why.
A ridiculous waste of resources. These stupid libel cases should remain in the tabloids where those who want to can fight it out there.
The world is falling apart with famine, wars and climate change. Also it’s the start of the football season and top story on the BBC is these pair having a school girl argument in the Royal Courts of Justice.

Sadly, this appears to be current opinion:

Wag tastic, let's hope this pair fade into insignificance from now on.

Sadly they wont, as the frenzy for this crap is inbuilt in some of our citizens.

The thing is Rebekah Vardy was actually very well advised. She was repeatedly begged to settle by her lawyers and by Rooney's. Vardy had actually won the first round in front of a judge and it was looking like it was going to be very difficult for Rooney to win based on that decision. Vardy could have taken an apology and/or a pay out from Rooney and they could have all moved on. Apparently Rooney's side made 4 formal attempts to settle. Instead Vardy insisted that she wanted to take it to court and 'clear her name' which essentially resulted in her torpedoing her whole reputation far worse than Rooney's post ever did. I think she just truly thought that if you destroyed all the evidence then there's nothing a court can do, because she's incredibly thick. You can advise people as much as you want, but when they're hell bent on destroying themselves eventually you just have to let them
