Steve Evans

This was in yesterday’s Guardian.

10th straight win at home yesterday, I’m really not looking forward to our trip there on 8th November.

  • Seems to have calmed down a bit in his old age, but i do find this bit slightly difficult to believe that the doctor told him..........

irrespective of his size and fitness, he has a pretty good managerial record in the lower leagues .. years ago I was a regular at Rotherham home games .. he really got his teams playing for him and was a bit of a cult hero

After what went on at Boston he should be nowhere near a football team in any capacity.

Revolting human being with zero redeeming features.

I'm glad we didn't get drawn against a big side though 🤥

Heard some horrendous stories about that man that probably shouldn’t be recounted here. Suffice to say you deserve maximum likes for that comment!

He is an old school loud mouth bully, I feel really sorry for Gillingham what he did to them over the last couple of seasons and the usual suspects he signed whilst alienating the rest of their players. Not many players who have played for him apart from his favourites have anything positive to say about the walking skidmark

What he was up to at Boston was unbelievable, hes a crook.

  • Without getting too libellous, what on earth was the red tomato up to?

In fairness he never had a competitive budget to work with at the Gills, and they actually over achieved under him in his first 2 seasons with top 10 finishes. And yes he can be blamed to an extent for last season because he lost interest and was trying to  manufacture an early release from his contract, but arguably they only finished up where their budget dictated anyhow.

Just look at where the Gills are now in the L2 standings, again that's a lack of investment in the player budget and nothing to do with Evans.

    I certainly agree that's he's a bully though.

How come they mention all the clubs he’s been at but don’t mention the suspended jail sentence

He lost a LOT of weight just before starting his short lived time as Leeds manager ten years ago.
He soon put it back on though after being sacked

Evans was left embarrassed when he took charge of Leeds and discovered the official club tracksuits were not big enough.
Madcap owner Massimo Cellino contacted official kit suppliers ‘Kappa’ in Italy and asked them to make some extra large training outfits for Evans.
But none have arrived, forcing Evans wear the old tracksuits he used to wear when in charge of Championship rivals Rotherham.

    “The former Millers boss”

Can well imagine him running a dodgy boozer in Bexley village 😉

How often does Divine Brown get mentioned nowadays when people talk about Hugh Grant's films?

SE was found guilty of criminal charges directly involving his management position, which is what the article is covering as an aside to his weight loss, not something he was doing in his own time.
Would have been more balanced if it mentioned it, I think it should follow him everywhere he goes that’s all.
