I think the Hudson move was on the cards anyway so not really an indicator of any takeover happening or not.

I shouldn't think so. It would be more attractive for any buyers if anything.

Not really, Cardiff came in with a good bid for a player that was happy to move if a decent offer came along.

Plus talks could be going on, but it could fall through at any time. If we rejected the bid in the hope of a takeover going through, then it failed, Cardiff might have signed someone else by then. I doubt we'd have got many, if any, £1m+ bids for Hudson.

yes it does, you don't sell you captain and only under contract centre half if there is new money around the corner - if the offer had been ridicuously high maybe..

The Management (sic), under pressure from the Board to raise cashflow, evidently decided that Hudson was expendable and could be replaced by a new player at perhaps less than half his salary - and raise working capital with a percentage for new inwards player movement.

That represents a good deal. Especially in present circumstances.

Now Hudson's gone, Llera in and Fortune expected to sign, I reckon we'll be looking for one other experienced CB
(Sodje ..?). That'll give 3 experienced CB's and opportunity for a youngster like Mambo to play a covering role also.

At this level 4 centrebacks should be sufficient.
Assuming Holland is moving on, there's always Kelly Yougo or even Semedo if all else fails ......

What's Linvoy Primus up to these days?

Would be a good captain and could do a job IF he was fit.

So just because there's new money you think the people bringing this money want to over pay for an underperforming player? The weathly don't get that way be wasting money, with what Hudson's reportedly on we could pay 3 league 1 players wages.

Now if he was a truly outstanding player I could see paying over the odds on his wages, but he isn't, so we're better off getting some money in for him and spending any new money on players who are more likely to get us promoted.

It's good business on our part (wages gone - £1M+ in the kitty) whoever is in charge.

If anyone has new money they don't waste 600,000 grand a year on a very average defender whilst signing away millions more on other wages/running costs. Maybe you have the brains to spend money equal to the return you get? Not on someone who has rarely had a good season, but often had good patches followed by disciplinary problems and loss of form.
