Doh, crap, wrong thread!
When leaving the pitch after doing the half time draw, I've never seen him move so fast

Any physicist will tell you that speed and distance are intertwined, and from a standing start nobody could do the eight yards as fast as Derek Hales.0
-
he didnt even need to do 8 yards most of the time, peach of a ball into the box from paddy or flash and bob's your uncle. I think he just waited there for the next attack, defences werent so offside savy then.0

Agree with Big William....Bennett (his burn down the wing at home to Everton to set Williams up was one kick to send it 30 yards and the next kick to square it along the 6 yard box!
Humphrey....no one outstripped him.
Williams....quick as fuck.
PS: Newton and Rufus were fast too. Rommedahl doesn't count cos he was a jessie0 -

Paul Walsh wasn't slow, neither was Killer over ten yards. It has to be Rommedahl, shame his brain worked at a quarter speed.....:o)0

Wasn't Rommedahl clocked at something like 10.6 seconds over 100m?0

He represented Denmark in the Olympics.0 -
Agree with all but one or two of the above and hope you don't mind me going back a bit but Bobby Ayre was not the tallest but he was bloody quick as was the young Peacock and Eddie Firmani. For a quick defender I think Peter Reeves takes some beating.0
