Excellent game, great performance from us and we are very much the better team though they are dangerous on the break.
we deserve to win this and need to keep doing what we are doing

Been on Kanu watch so much that I missed Portugal's 2nd goal. Was struggling to receive the ball in or around the box all half was Kanu but when he did late on in that half from a hard tackle from a Cafc player he picked up the ball and hit a Mbappesque shot into the net.
Cafc have had the vast majority of the ball and only a mistake by Gough led to the Newcastle goal. Back in the game now and all to play for in the 2nd half.

Nice bit of sustained pressure from us at the moment ends with us winning a corner from the left.

2-1 Bower, follow up on a rebound shot in six yard box, nice finish

Six yard box was absolutely heaving for the corner, ball came back out, not sure who crossed it in to Casey (who may possibly have been offside, but no flag), his header was parried and Toby Bower beat him to the rebound and slotted home.

Erk, Rylah collides with the hoardings in front of the Covered End in the process of winning a corner, but he's up OK now.

After a concerted spell of pressure from us, a long through ball sent Parkinson clear and he shot well to equalise.
  • All the good open stuff is ours, Newcastle not looking anything special, two very much break away goals have them 2-2

Graeme Carrick is the younger brother of Michael incidentally
  • Both Newcastle goals were hopeful breakaways, poorly defended, but well taken by the Newcastle forward.
We have been by far the better footballing team, just caught out twice by sucker punches. Sounds familiar!

Newcastle's Parkinson is down with an injury on the edge of our area after a bit of a collision with Kedwell when they were on the counter.

AAAARGH! Kanu shoots just wide when he looked odds on to score.

Ref gives them a free kick on the edge of the D of our area, but it'll have to wait cos Karoy Anderson is down having treatment a bit further up the pitch at the mo.

Free kick goes straight into the wall thankfully.

Bit of a deflection put the ball into Mavididi's path, and he put it through Kone's legs

    20 minutes plus left
  • Watching the stream.
Good entertainment, a lot of Skill on show from us. Two breakaway goals for them.
A lot like watching the first team.
Bugger 2-3, lucky goal for them.

Patrick Casey's gone off, but I didn't catch which of the subs have come on.

Hobden's getting a booking for a sliding tackle on the edge of the centre circle.
