    The amount of OB was incredible, especially the load opposite the Lib after. My little boy was loving it but I had no answers as to why they were there!

    As for the Barnsley fans at start of season us away is probably the pick of away games so they are gonna bring a few, as the sole London club in this league it’s also a big allocation and one of the best stadiums in the league

    Barnsley one of the bleakest places in Yorkshire. 
    Must have been the warm bitter that made the fans have a go at the East Stand.

    Incredible. I wonder if the club have to pay for this “extra” policing. Was total overkill.

    What grates on me is that during the game, rather than being sat in vans playing on phones, get of your arse and patrol the local streets.

    It's a pandemic in the lower leagues.  One of my learners is a fan of a local lower league side, a complete nightmare in and out of supporting his team, AND he goes with his fucking mum!  Can't wait to meet her at some point.

    Walked into a pub close to Leeds station many years ago and there was a coachload of Barnsley fans in there (they were not playing Leeds). Every one of them was steaming drunk and the level of conversation had to be heard to be believed. "Thick" came nowhere close. This was a Densa outing with a combined IQ of less than 200. They set fire to toilets before they left. A proper fire which caused the pub to be evacuated 5 minutes after they had left.

    I had a nosey on their forum saturday night at their match thread, one poster said he hoped the team bus would crash on the way home seriously injuring everyone so they cannot play for Barnsley again. The next dozen pages made for interesting reading!

    Needless to say the thread was pulled.

    Yes, I read that thread too.  To be fair, the other Barnsley fans were livid with the idiot who made that comment, and in general the tone was one of frustration at some of the fellow fans the more sensible types have to put up with on awaydays.  Every club has them, some more than others of course, but I recall a particularly unpleasant train ride* back from Bournemouth where some mouthy 17-y-olds apparently among our fan base were a complete pain in the jacksie for 2 hours solid.  And I've had a couple of very pleasant pre-match sessions in the Dove Inn in Barnsley where the welcome is warm and the pie and chips great value...

    Back to Saturday, what was that weird formation of PCs in Delafield Road after the game, they seemed primed to start some kind of riot control (but there was no riot in sight) OR some kind of passing out parade? (they seemed to be in dress uniform rather than riot gear

    *I'm a Charlton fan, so of course no train ride is ever really unpleasant

    That the road by the station ? From the look on their faces as I walked past I thought they were either embarrassed or pissed off that they’d been told to stand there like that. It was like the school teacher had told them they’d all been naughty boys and girls.

    Kiddy is one of those towns that is 33% council estate. Some fantastic people inhabit those estates (my wife grew up on one) but as a town it can definitely be a bit rough around the edges. Been to watch the Harriers play lots of time without ever having any problems. Went to school with plenty of pricks like this though.
