The organising and subsequent cancelling of the Q&A night has finally forced the board to show the hand that they have been keeping so tight to their chests.Well done.
Don't think it will be to long before the light is turned on fully and we can finally see what is going on with OUR club.

I think the FF is doing a good job but I doubt that the meeting arrangements had anything to do with the current position. The Board is potless, they have done their money. They know that there is probably enough money left for the club to limp on into the future. They know that the club infra-structure is going to be decimated if we don't get promoted quickly. My guess is that they have been working tirelessly for an exit strategy that leaves the club on a firmer financial footing.

We will no doubt find out in the next few days.

Well done to the fans' forum but not for the reasons above.

A lot of work was going into the event from all directions and the fans' forum are v dissappointed that all the hard work, time and effort has been put on hold for the time being. Keep
    going lads!

The Fans' Forum did all that could reasonably be expected and more.

    Especially Tel.

The boys done good. Keep up the good work.

The new member of the FF was meant to be announced tomorrow so I wonder if that will be revealed now or when the meeting is re-scheduled.

Typical Charlton, keeping the fans in the dark and disrespecting us. Why can't you just come out and tell us rather than hiding behind all this spin and lies. I think it's all a big sham and there is no takeover new FF member at all and you lot are going to keep all the cakes and sarnies for yourselves : - )

Seriously, keep it going. Will be interesting to see who the new member/s is/are.

Tel – do you think the board ever really wanted the forum or do you just think it was an exercise in hot air used to make it look like they still cared about what the fans thought after getting rid of the fans director ?

I wasnt part of the process, so I cant really comment on the whys and wherefores. Am I a little disillusioned about things at the moment?...yes, I'd be lieing if I indicated otherwise. My own personal feelings is that we as fans forum members put a lot of effort in, (and youd have to be there to realise just how much time is spent on all things Charlton)...but we get very little in return. Obviously this cant carry on add infenitum as members would get gradually pished off....and when I say very little in return, Im not talking about perks as there are none....its about action and ideas and implementation.....and most importantly communication...and we all know how poor thats been of late. The Forum is very poorly named, as Ive said on many occasions, its a group of fans...action group would be innappropriate, but something along those lines....working in tandem with the club, however its a very one sided affair at the moment..the club have a very hard working group, but if you asked me do they value it and use it to its full potential, then no they dont....but in this climate of uncertainty it would be easy to say...well its hardly likely to be a success as the next board may not want a forum or fans representative, so for now its a bit like being between a rock and a hard place...

I think they proably do valu the FF and are not using it as a PR sop, but they clearly have more important matters on their mind right now.

Grim reading Tel, but nothing I've not suspected. Since the Fans Forum have been forced to "challenge" more than the board may have been expecting. Keep plugging away. I think you have more sway than you realise. There are a groundswell of normal, loyal fans that are concerned by recent decision making and communications (or lack thereof).

Is it me? Am I the new fans forum rep/director? I think we need a new broom and a bit more straight talking and am honoured to accept the position. You read it here first, FACT

Only kidding, I have no doubt that all the ff seek what we are all interested in, just surprised that it has come to this. I don't blame ff or fans director in any way. Just trying to lighten a sad situation we are in. When mentioning this to people at work they are shocked that such a model club could end up in this situation as we are seen as a way forward with fans/boards and they have always believed the hype around this. Maybe the weakening of the link and the end of a director should of been taken more seriously by fans, I know it was by some, but in reality, there is not a lot that could of been done. I have slagged fans reps in the past as being self serving. But always known the reality is different. Maybe we all could of done more to affect change before it got to this, a good old fashioned demo against the board may have seen change sooner and though I was never one who would of attended, can now see the benefit of such actions. Perhaps we just always accepted that the board were fans too and knew best. But car park demos (apart from important issues such as potholes) were not seen as the Charlton way, perhaps they should be. I have never slagged demo fans off, just ignored them, maybe they were right and the silent majority were wrong.

Anyway, onwards and upwards, with a brief down on the way.

    COME ON YOU REDS. FACT

    I didn't edit it...

Now a couple of weeks ago I asked you to do one simple thing and you refused.

As I mentioned and Tel seems to confirm, you've been given the run around, not deliberately, because as I say the board have plenty on their plate, but gullibility isn't a quality I'm admiring right now...
