The use of the word 'soon' in the title was my fault. Steve Waggott's e-mail reply used the phrase 'in the near future'.
AFKA has already taken me to task on this one, although from where I sit I'm not sure that there is a clear distinction between the two terms. Either way, the essence of the post is that the Club is intending to react to the Mail on Sunday story and is currently preparing something.
Whether that's 'soon' enough for many of us remains to be seen.0 -

i was talking wiwlb on this earlier some of us are old enough to remember the last time we were kept this in tthe dark and we all got a piece of paper as we walked through the turnstyles, i am not suggesting that this is anywhere near that but the board should have that history in the forefront of their minds that back then it was unaceptable and perhaps there are genuine concerns about what we are about to hear0

Piss poor communcations all round then? Your error Dave was a bit schoolboy tbh, especially with everyone being so on edge. Still doesn't explain why the club can't just cobble together a denial of the gist of micks article if it is not true. If someone said such things about you, you would at least want to say it wasn't true at all as a first line of defence, but nothing from the club to this extent, speaks volumes.0

So, the article surfaced on Saturday night and we are here on Wednesday evening and nothing.
Sorry, but for an organisation of any size that is piss poor. Mind you, it probably says a lot about the way things are down there that they can't even agree on the content of a statement/press release.

Although I dont wish to give Richard Murray or Derek Chappell individually or personally any stick I have to say ever since the dual headed plc/club structure communication has been confused and as my late father would say 'piss poor'.0

Umm ........ excuse me, guys. 'Soon' versus 'in the near future'? If that's an error, schoolboy or not, I think we all might need to get our future postings vetted by a Professor of English from Oxford University.
How about looking at the big picture rather than getting confused by your own personal interpretation of commonplace words? This may be the third time I've said as much, but the message is that the Club is preparing a response to the Mail on Sunday article and will make it available. AFKA (bless his heart) has subsequently gained insight into some of the likely content of that response and, although we may not be satisfied with what we hear, at least we know that we are going to hear something.
Now ........ must finish my homework.

I found it interesting to read that Exeters manager described us as a 'club in a state of limbo', which i'm taking as further proof that something is definitely going on!0

I'll tell you what- I'm glad Waggott &Co weren't in charge during WW2 as Hitler would have conquered most of Europe whilst they were still drawing up their response to Belguim being invaded.
If a story is run in the Sunday papers I would expect an annoucement, either denying or clarifying certain aspects of it, before the following thursday.
I admire Dave Rudd for having the balls to e-mail Waggott in the first place, and whether he said the response would be "soon" "in the near future" or even "during the week" , a reply should have been forthcoming long before now.
