In a team that plays with one striker, Bonne is third choice behind a child and player that is perennially injured.I’m sure he’ll get a contract somewhere this summer, they have my deepest sympathies.1

That would be in the same division as us. If he's not good enough for us at this level then he almost certainly won't be good enough for Orient.1 -

Maybe this is the wrong thread, but I think our problems are far more widespread than the player who is being trashed here.
Since Sandgaard introduced hard shot Martin into our recruitment system it's been one poor player after another or if I'm being kinder, players bought in to play systems they just are not suited to. The player in question here is just the same. Not suited to one up top. Nobody can cross a ball.... CBT in particular.... maybe the left and right backs, Kane and Penney were seen as the answer, but one was crocked on his debut and the other seems to have disappeared leaving us with who?People are saying they have none or little affinity with any of our players.... is it any wonder when we have a bloke running recruitment that previously worked in a medical aid facility?
Nothing here will change until the Sandgaard family is no longer in a position of power at Charlton. People think as I did, that Duchatelet was a poor owner, Sandgaard is infinitely worse as he meddles via his boy in recruitment let alone any of his other self created disasters behind the scenes.17 -

Its not as if he has been thrown into a situation where he's had to play Manchester City every week.1 -

I'm not saying that he is beyond criticism but how many chances have we created for him since he came back? He's not got a supply line provided by the likes of Mahrez, Foden, KDB or Grealish either.
Equally, we've got another forward who has scored one League goal this season and four in total in the last year. And another that we sold because he'd only scored two goals this season. We chose to sign Bonne in the same way as we chose to sign Aneke and Stockley. Leaburn, to his credit, has managed half a dozen but he hasn't scored in the same number of games Bonne hasn't for us. We didn't have to sign any of them but the truth might just be, as TEL suggests, that the system doesn't suit one forward especially someone like Bonne who relies on delivery. He's only with us 'til the end of the season and we aren't going anywhere so we haven't lost that much.
The more pertinent aspect is who and how many strikers are we going to sign for next season. I suspect that, with this regime, the answer will be one and the same arguments will apply next year. Whoever it is.1 -

The worrying thing is if we don’t have a new owner by the summer I can’t see Bonne and all the other dross we signed in January going anywhere.0

We've never been a team to create loads for our lone striker, so why sign someone who needs chances laid on a plate in order to contribute.
Now we find praise anywhere. We've got used to having such poor players that you can actually win praise from us fans for winning two or three headers! I remember when Taylor used to spin his man and smash them in from 25-yards. Oh how we've fallen.

We create next to nothing - Bonne needs service.1

Bonne and Leaburn need to play together as Bonne can win headers and Leaburn can run things down... A bit backwards given their comparative sizes, but they need to be able to support one another.
One striker isn't doing the job.

It's so frustrating our others can't do that. Bonne and Leaburn need to play together as Bonne can win the headers and Leaburn can run things down... A bit backwards given their comparative sizes, but they need to be able to support one another.1 -

So he's only been a bit part player for 30/44 games. Or two thirds of those games. Seems a bit unfair to judge him on what he's done anywhere but here this season.
So far it's 7MP, 0G, 0A so far and I bet he's even more pissed about it than you are. This was seen as his chance to redeem himself and it isn't working out so far.2 -

I recall when Jonny Williams was in the side and would get criticised for getting very few assists in the Championship. Yet it seemed to be lost on a lot of people that he was supplying the bullets to the likes of Tomer Hemed. Yet Williams will still offer something in his play that could make us tick on a good day.Even Josh Parker, who lacked any kind of goal scoring habit for us, still offered something else in his game that helped us.Stockley, Leaburn and Aneke have all demonstrated that when fit they could still have a trait that helps us play better - even on days when they didn’t score. It’s then down to the management to find a way to make it work. And in Stockley’s case, the management failed IMO.Bonne has nothing. Play him in a one, play him in a two, put someone behind him - doesn’t matter. When we had him in the first spell he did well to get on the end of a few chances and grab some goals. But even then I don’t recall a single game where he walked off looking like a dominant player or someone who opposition should fear whatsoever. If you were to ask me to describe what his style of play is, I honestly wouldn’t know what to say. He’s just…..there.5 -
Beyond pony he heads it to no one , i saw one header won
He contributes diddly , it's a team game
for the record i said how appalling Leaburns miss was and hes now a better non scoring forward we have in our ranks0 -

As I say, he's only here for a maximum of 14 games. We can then look forward to the two (and I hope that no one will dispute that we need two of them as we did at the start of this season) "all singing/all dancing" strikers that we will no doubt be signing in the summer.1
-
I reckon Bonne's contract will be renewed in the Summer.
I expect us to need to find a full set of strikers, with Leaburn probably off, Chucks doing what Chucks does and the black box not being able to come up with 3 or 4 names not being desperate to sell their souls to SE7.
