Very under-rated bassist. Went off the rails a bit with the success and never really got it back afterwards. RIP

No age, didnt seek the limelight like his leader and go on to have the career Jonny Marr had.

Not related but just found out Francis Monkman died last week, he was with Curved Air and wrote many TV commercials, film scores including the great theme tune from the film Long Good Friday.

    RIP, some brilliant bass lines.
I was really into the Smiths back in the early to mid 80s.

Hearing the bass line in 'This Night Has Opened My Eyes' had me hooked when I first heard it many years ago.

Great bass player with a heavyweight legacy.

    RIP.

Barbarism Begins at Home -  showed what a great, versatile bass player he was. Underpinned The Smiths. RIP.
