I think it would be an awfully nice gesture for the club to recognise Steve’s efforts in running the academy. How about an annual “Avery Award of Excellence” given to the most promising youngster? In all that is doom and gloom at the moment the Addicks can at least take pride in their excellent academy!

Steve Avory also nominates an U16 player for the Steve Clarke award. Last year Henry Rylah. This year Jacob Safa.
