So we'd better get used to how to say
And spell his surname. Starts LA
That's the Lakers, the Angels, the Rams. Okay,
We move to Q. With a U, you say?
No U. Yes, you! No U today,
It goes QE RETA
What's R ETA? No way,
We should have been here yesterday!
We end with BU and an A,
Like you're giving him a boo but then hooray,
So that's how you can spell and say
Josh La-qe-re-ta-bu-a!

It will be a real shame if he has gone. I was told he was touted by someone at the club as the best keeper we have had for years and from what I saw of him I found it hard to disagree0 -

Didn't Hamza Serrar go to a Middle Eastern club to head up their academy?1

Would expect him to get called up to the Fiji squad sooner rather than later2

Think someone on here said he's also on the England radar though, so wonder if he's stalling.
Whoever put him as the bloke to be marking Sweeney for that penalty appeal needs fining though - It was the one thing in recent games where I completely agreed with what Brownie was complaining about!! - Little things like that need fixing in matches.1 -
Can see him starting or coming off the bench against Walsall, interested to see what he can do as all the looks I've had of him at first team level have been cameo appearances, would be pretty fun to have a spine of academy players playing internationally for Fiji, Jamaica and Sierra Leone1

Going to be interesting to see if either him or Zach Mitchell properly break through this season. Feels like only Jones and Alex Mitchell are suited to playing as two CBs in a back four, while REG, Gillesphey and Potts were all signed to play as wider CBs in a back three. I wouldn’t expect them to be starters ahead of Jones and Mitchell, but there’s a chance to get plenty of games if/when either are out with Gillesphey not being convincing.1
-
It would be difficult, even as an inexperienced youngster to be less convincing than Gilleshpey.1

I dont think the way we are playing at the moment and the fans disillusion with the management/style of play (not sure we have one) its an ideal time to throw him in. However I do appreciate the old cliche if your good enough1
-
Anyone that has watched him in the tooth that can give some ideas of strengths/weaknesses and a view as to whether he will make it...?

I hope they have ordered enough "Q"s and extra vowels in the club shop shirt department.0

Not sure Josh is a CB. Not strong or good in the air. But then neither was Konsa at his age. He is decent on the ball, has some pace, so maybe RB may be his gig to start with, like Konsa, Gomez and Dijksteel in their early days.0

Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce that academy prospect Josh Laqeretabua has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The 19-year-old, who joined the Addicks’ academy at U9 level, has put pen-to-paper on a deal until 2028, with a club option of an extra year.

Well deserved and glad we're continuing to tie these young players down quickly0
-
Watch out Wycombe!
Congrats Josh0 -
What a great couple of months its been for Josh, especially after injury last season... Fully deserves the Contract
Wonder how much he's still on the England Youth radar, or whether he'll end up representing Fiji Senior Team soon0 -
It was touch and go whether he'd have to stop playing due to his injuries so this is great news for him and the club.11

Seems like a long deal to give to a player who’s been plagued with injuries from a young age and not really been involved. Nevertheless, great news for him0

Josh Laq will go far in that game once he finishes growing and plays regularly16 -
