Ok can I ask a serious question please !

WTF has happened to my club ????

in the space of a few weeks we have gone from a basket case relying on cast offs to actually being chosen as a club to come to by players that actually have a choice of who to play for.

    how quick things can turnaround

im saying it “ if we don’t get top 2 this season I will be amazed”
Father and Son (and Twitter Wife/Girlfriend) aren't running our Club anymore. Nor is a bunch of crooks. Simple as that I suppose?

Seems a proper nice chap, welcome to the club Terry pal.

I've actually watched all of these interviews now and the players we are recruiting all seem quite down to earth, nice change as we have recruited some proper rotters over the years.

Seem to be racking up the Scottish as opposed to the Welsh this time. It's doubtful it will happen, but if we operate with a midfield of Fraser McGrandles and Taylor, that will be an all Scottish midfield. Have we ever had an all Scottish midfield ever? I'm not sure

methinks the answer to your question is .. a big injection of MONEY, given to a confident manager who knows what players he wants and is getting some .. young players mostly, no place for old hands who've been round the roundabout a few too many times

It is good to see that Holden is (so far) very much walking the walk to go with his "no dickhead policy" talk, on current evidence at least.

I'm not for one moment expecting the same results but it's reminding me of how Powell was insistent on having players with the right personality as well as ability. Having players who are articulate and seemingly good people is definitely better than the mercenaries after an extra pay-day that we've previously seen too many of.

    Cawley says 150k roughly.

Wonder if they fancy McGrandles for 150k 👀
    Kirk
    Both
    for 150k smarties
£150k folding would be cloud cuckoo for both and actually probably criminal for either on his own
  • Sorry if this has been said before but I just watched Terry's first interview. I wonder if any of the historical players he'd done his due diligence with, were Tony Watt. That would be incredible if he's helped us out.

I presumed he meant MacGillivray and Oshilaja who he also played with @ Burton

I've got a mate called Terry.
Thought he was a chocolate orange.
    Eventually he was sectioned

    Great signing

How many midfielders do we need? Don’t we need a strike to pair up with May?
After the injury hit Championship season that saw Vennings and Dempsey overused out of desperation along with subsequent years lack of depth, I'm quite happy to see us stacked in that area.

Plus Kirk and Lavelle who were there last season.

We have made some very good signings, and the last 24 hours have been adding a player from the division above in an area where we desperately need a first choice player, and really adding strength in depth with a highly rated young player to arguably our strongest area of the team, central midfield.

Are we...becoming a somewhat well run club?

Watching player's like Inniss, Morgan, Clare and Bonne was so depressing.
We were never going to get promoted with that lot.
Hopefully the signings we have made so far are a major improvement on what we had last season.
    Feeling quite optimistic.

Very impressive interview. Articulate and focused, and fully engaged with the project. Really happy with this one.

Anyone else read that as Terry Naylor and think he's a bit old?

Despite everything Charlton will always be an attractive proposition to many lower league players.

£150k or about 2 and half hours of Mbappe’s time in Saudi.
That's an idea, sign Mbappe for the last 5minutes for every game (like Aneke)

I like the sound of this lad. His brief interview says a lot too.
None of the clichè “it’s a massive club” bollocks.
instead he talks of Dean Holdens plan.
Fingers crossed he continues to grow as a player.

    a) Terry Taylor, what a s**t name for a modern footballer

Interesting how he says in his interview that Kirk sold Charlton and Holden well to him!
    He was overdue an assist

I’ve no idea why I’m excited by this signing because I wouldn’t recognise Terry Taylor if he sat next to me in the bus.

Feels like the Dale Stephen’s type signing I’ve wanted for ages, rave reviews, young, massive upside, could well be a Championship player already
