Why buy May then pump balls up to him?!
We have to sign a target man or it’s the same old shite
Running in behind is one of his qualities, helps stretch the pitch and gives space for our midfielders. In theory.
That’s if you hit balls beyond the centre halves to turn them around.
We’re hitting it from deep in our own half onto their heads

I think most of our goals this season are going to fall into the category of the opposition score 'after x gave away the ball in a dangerous area'. Might need some clearance practice in training
  • Not sure what to make of that half.. i thought we played quite well without looking overly threatening and did manage to keep it an even affair.. mistake from Camara that lead to the goal but think he was fairly decent before that.. it feels like posh have more about them in the final third and we’ve struggled to find May.. hope we can keep them out in the second half and maybe nick a goal because I can’t see us getting more than 1 and maybe pinching a point from this.

Why do we insist in keep putting high balls in the box? We have the two smallest players in the league up front.

The ball on the edge of our box
That’s pretty disrespectful to the ball, Gary.

Poor touch by Camara there and then suddenly all our defenders are nowhere to be seen, Thomas followed the man and as he played it back, all 3 centre backs are in one side of the box and there's a gaping hole for them.

    352 DOESN'T FUCKING WORK
A poor touch by Camara as you say which has nothing to do with the formation and we’re playing 4-3-3.
That's even worse then, because it means our left back was on the right hand side of the central defender when they pass that ball.

If it's really 433 then Asiimwe is pushing way higher than Thomas, and Jones is playing very wide for a centre back

Boro doing well to sit back and allow our CBs to have lots of the ball, because they can't really do much with it.

Stockley was left on the bench today... Time for a cheeky bid?

At least Rak Saki might work some individual magic second half.

Oh wait, we had all summer but.didn't replace.him.
Maybe bring.on our big.old school.striker.and.go direct..oh wait we had all summer and failed to sign him either.
Well if it's that bad get bloody Bonne on. Oh wait,  he plays for Gillingham. .

See my previous comment about lack of creativity. Run out of ideas, just pump it. We were guilty last week of too many Hollywood balls from the back.

Thomas gets completely dragged out of position by Poku’s run and the goal scorer smartly fills the space in behind.

Agree with everything Brownie has said. We look poor. Shaky defensively. Ponderous in midfield. Lightweight in attack. May is doing lots of running but no one looks like they have the quality to find them. CBT has been the only vague outlet but we haven’t got him in the ball often enough.

Listened to Posh commentary. Up to the goal they were saying that we've had good possession, but they've carried the main threat, then they scored from nothing really. Just a throw on half way line camara headed on into the path of their player, one pass and stroked past the flailing AMB. No defender in sight.

Not convinced this squad is as good as we hope.

There’s been multiple gone over their heads, including one May got on the end of and turned around and set up Payne for an attempt at goal

Like in general? Wonder how Plymouth did it last season. And Sheff Weds. And Ipswich. 3 at the back works fine if you coach it well, we just seem to have an issue with defensive coaching that goes back quite a long way

Oh, I see. Didn't think an inanimate object could be called that. Thought you were talking about a player.

Not a classic half of football, both sides guilty of lots of wayward passing and some terrible first touches. With one and two decent chances for us and them. A mix of playing out from the back and launching long balls forward...neither tactic has looked great. On that note...

The Jones pinging balls out from the back experiment will hopefully end as they're largely a waste. Thomas and Assimwe looking like our best two defenders at the club currently.

Cámara looks rusty which given his game time isn't a surprise. Also want to see him and mcgrandles for a gangly spaghetti legs showdown.

Payne has been lively, Dobson carrying the team as usual, May trying but long balls up to him is pointless and CBT not in the game much.

Not an inspiring looking bench so... Errrrr.... 2-0?

When I was a kid I played against a midfielder that was released from the Millwall academy for being too short. I always thought it was harsh but watching Payne try and head balls bouncing over his head I'm starting to think they had a point.

CBT and Inshallah isn't a tactic. Yet we've relied on it for the last 2 years.

    Frustrating.

Same old from us, start the season with one fit strike and toothless in attack. We were playing well until that point but one lapse in concentration and they are through on goal.

Apart from Camara thinking he's Pele, that was actually a good first half. Holden stated we are no where near where we want to be and you can see that, get a striker, get Leaburn fit and we will be a threat, at the moment dominating the midfield is no good if we are not a threat in the box.
