We'll be playing youth players until the end of August again - and the cycle continues. 

Businesses don’t change overnight. Football clubs are different but not entirely different. If this season is about stabilising and then getting promoted next year, that’s probably as good as it gets. I’m not saying that’s the plan, but it’s the only credible one.

This doesn't make sense when you think about it. We aren't stabilising, because at the end of the summer, the squad will be totally unstable. We'll need to sign a new squad basically, and we'll be starting the season weak again, dropping points as we scramble to complete transfers up until the window shuts, and then we'll be trying to get the players we have signed up to fitness, which will take even more time. 

To stabilise, we have to get out of this cycle.

I make that a squad of 28 once the Man City loanee is confirmed, can’t argue with the numbers we have, even if Kirk ends up going 27 is good.

I think a lot of it will come down to getting Leaburn, Fraser and Camara back fit personally and no one really knows how the new lads will get on with the exception of Tanai Watson who we’ve seen play. But what it does do is gives us options and a squad.

A real shame we started so badly as there’s pressure on us now, it would’ve been lovely heading into Fleetwood at home with say 9/10 points but we are where we are, let’s see what they’ve got.

But to some fans all they see is numbers. We don't know much about these players so I doubt Fleetwood or Exeter fans do either. 

This is a gut feeling, but I just think we MUST go with 2 up top, whatever that looks like whether it’s 352/442.  I just think that’s what’s most effective in this hellhole of a league.
